hello everyone hoping someone here can help me out i just bought a ford two row cultivator with a covington sidedresser with 2 spedmaster duplex planters and also 2 reg duplex planters i ve managed to get the speedmaster planters mounted on the cultivator and the sidedresser also but the books from the current owner are kind of vague about setting the planters and even more so with setting the amount of fertilizer to be put down by the side dresser the only thing the book mentions is setting the slide plate with a 1/4 inch gap for the fertilizer to flow thru puts approx 450 lbs per acre im using this to plant a garden so not planting by the acre im planting 150 ft rows approx 1/2 acre total any suggestions on fertilizer or tips on setting this up would be helpful i am using the sidedresser to put out fertilizer when i plant as well as when i later plow everything would the 450 lbs per acre be to much for corn peas beans tators okra watermelons canalope squash cuccumbers etc. in other words can i use this same setting for everything and also what fertilizer reccomendation did a soil sample ph was from 5.9 to 6,1 i took 3 different samples from different parts of the garden advised putting out 700 lbs lime and fertilize 15-0-15 cant find fertilizer in that combination what would you guys suggest? thanks
