Just wondering if somebody can confirm/explain this for me: I'm in the process of purchase a L3800 and I found different explanation about the QA(quick attach) system for bucket. One dealer said the QA is standard and has the same meaning as SSQA (skid steer quick attach). The other dealer is saying that I need a Skid Steer Coupler/L514 (price 458CAD) in order to have SSQA system on L3800 and be able to connect a grapple instead the bucket.
A picture will be appreciated.
Thx.

On the M7040 and Grand L series they are SSQA. BUT not standard.

If you are buying new you have a choice of a pin-on bucket or the SSQA. The QA costs extra. You will see that option on the Kubota website "Build Your Kubota" feature. It shows up when you get to the additonal options - like a FEL. Even buying the bucket is an option since there are several styles.

The first dealer may simply order all tractors with a QA and charge the extra $500 in the total price.

The SSQA and QA usually mean the same thing. The coupler the dealer refers to should be the third function hydraulic that is needed to run a grapple.

I just got my new L3800 and am looking at buying a grapple. Was wondering the same thing. I do have the kubota QA and my dealer says he's 'pretty sure' they are compatible but would like to know for sure before I fork out a relatively high shipping bill. I'm certainly not into modifying new equipment to ' make it work'. Wish I were but I'm not. So, you kubota owners with factory QA, when you ordered your grapple, did you get the SSQA and did it work without modifications?? Help us out a little...

Don't know about the grapple part, but I have an L3800 w/ QA FEL and just bought SSQA pallet forks for it. They fit just fine. Real quick and easy to switch between the two.

I always thought QA meant that the front end loader was a Quick Attatch ... in other words easy to remove the entire loader from the tractor ... I thought SSQA (Skid Steer Quick Attatch) refered to the bucket and the attatchments to go on in place of the bucket.

The easiest way to determine if your bucket is SSQA is to look see if you have two levers and spring loaded pins ... pull up the levers and back away from the bucket... if so its SSQA.

Today with marketing some companies have sared building non-quick attach loaders again. This gives the opening or the need to a SSQA for the attachments to the loader.

The standard loader for the 3800 does not come with QA as standard equipment but is an option in the US.

It is one that I stress for people to buy as you should always get your money back at resale.

QA means quick attach but could be of any design manufacture wishes to use. SSQA is 'skid steer quick attach, the skid loader has adopted an industry standard so all skid loaders can hook up to any brand of attachment. From what I have seen in TBN over the past year Kubota uses the SSQA, there are some brands of tractor loaders that do not or did not use the SSQA system. I have seen some John Deere that use a different top hook design but Blueriver's pic looks like SSQA. JD may have both options now?? I also saw someone in here with a Bush Hog loader that had a unique QA but most companies today have gone the to SSQA.
To answer your inital question, Kubota uses the SSQA system.

At the risk of being redundant, here is a photo of the Kubota QA or SSQA. All skid steer implements fit.
