New guy needs help with tiller purchase

DRdriller,

I bought a LandPride a year ago, reverse tine machine, and could not be more happy if it came with a guarantee ***** would get beat in November.

Like you, i did a lot of reading and research. And I found its like asking about car brands.....Everybody is a die hard fan of one or the other and knows the rest are all junk.

What converted me was the company behind the machine and the dealer selling it. My dealer carries like 4 or 5 brands and the Service manager when asked said hands down, LandPride. That told me a lot. And when I started asking about after purchase service at the Hobby farm places I realized they don't have service departments. (Or anyone I could find smarter than a socket set)

The other thing that swayed me was LandPrides willingness to support things and organizations I believe in. Im an avid Turkey and Deer hunter and support QDMA and NWTF as well as QUWF. Land Pride supports all three and I could never even get a door prize donated by the other outfit dealers to a local banquet.

Gear box and PTO assembly and clutch operation are the key to survival of a tiller especially where you have rock or roots. I am the owner of what I think now is a root farm...I sure found a ton with my LP and it walked right over them( one of the reasons I went with reverse tine machine)

Good luck and happy shopping.

Kodiak tillers are excellent bang for the buck. Check out "Equipment Barn".
