1st they still do make and sell 3 btm fully mounted plows. I know people with them less than 10-15 years old.
With a semi mount plow you are using only the 2 lift arms to pick the front of the plow. the rear wheel also is used for not only lift but steering. I like semi mounts and still plow about 30 acers a year on my friends farm farm with one. The smallest semi mounts I've ever seen is a 4 btm.
Another option is to look for a roll over plow, I them in a 3 btm. These plows have 6 btms, 3 on each side of the beam. so you can start on one edge of a field and just keep working across plowing back and forth.
