I am looking at buying a woods bh80x backhoe for my tractor. I was told I need a hose kit to connect to tractor. My question is since I have a set of rear remotes can't I just hook it up to them?

Yes you can. Mine is hooked up to port A and return thru my oil fill tube.Yours would be the same..

I believe Woods would like to sell you a very specific hose kit, precisely the CORRECT length for hooking up. And a little to short when you can't easily maneuver your tractor to it after the BH has "slipped" a little from where you dropped it. I could have gladly used an extra 6 inches on each hose on my BH70X.

Does it seem reasonable that the kit would cost $290 if it only was two hoses?

Well, I wouldn't be surprised at that price. Ever blown a hose and go to a hydraulic shop and have a new one made?? When I installed my BH-80X I just had a local shop make me two hoses for my backhoe loop...... it was around two hundred dollars for the pair of hoses. That was several years ago.

Thanks for the responses.
One more question. I am trying to decide between a 7 qnd 8 foot backhoe. Just wondering why you chose the hoe you did, and would you buy the same if you had to do it over again?

$35.00 can get you a hand made hose 4foot long at the dealer here. Sure are proud of their hoses.

You need to let us know more about your tractor, make, model, hydraulic GPM rating, does it have a necessary FEL?
A starting criteria for you is to go online to the Woods site and research which BH model offers a subframe specifically designed for your tractor. That will tell you what Woods would recommend.
One nice feature now being offered by Woods on the BH80-X is an optional factory installed hydraulic thumb.
I have the BH90-X with hydraulic thumb and 4-PT subframe on my NH TC-40.
:welcome:
