Gary, I've compared both on price only. XB is always a little higher due to special order. The locals around here don't stock them. I think without the extra "special order" the price would be pretty close but the XB is lighter duty.

I have been asking my local TSC about the XB line since early this year when I picked up a brochure....they keep saying "three weeks" on delivery. I am waiting on the 4FT BB for my 2210 but would like to see the entire line. The brochure had the XB line in black versus the normal yellow. What color at the implements you've seen?

From what little info they gave me, the boxblades were priced cheaper than most others so I'm expecting average construction and quality.

Yes....the XB line is targeted at the kubota BX / JD 2210 size of scut.

<font color="green">The XB implements I saw were a red color with black lettering and black stripes - a much different color scheme than the mustard color used by KK for their other implements.

Red with black stripes? Hmmm.....well, now I know what to look for at TSC!

    Thanks!

I've been trying to get an XB middlebuster from TSC since February. I finally gave up on TSC and ordered it from another dealer in the area. It arrived yesterday and I am a little disappointed in the quality. There are a lot of runs in the paint and some of the welds are sloppy.

    It is painted black.

<font color="green">Looking in the 2003 Orschlen Farm &amp; Home catalog you will find the following prices for XB implements as shown on page 100.

Also I should have been more clear about the black stripes. It is a stripe that runs under the KingKutter name and into the left bottom of the X.

    48" Rotary Kutter $539.99
    48" Cut Finish Mower $1039.00
    4' Flexible Drag Harrow $179.99
    8' Flexible Drag Harrow $289.99
    5' Disc $479.99
    5' Rear Blade $169.99
    4' Box Blade $299.99
    5' Landscape Rake $319.99

The XB's that I saw were kubota orange, and better quality overall than the regular yellow kk's. For instance, the welds were neater, paint much better, and there were 2 rear wheels on the 5' XB vs 1 on the KK. They were both rotary mowers, not finish mowers. I forgot to look to see if the geometry of the 3pt was different. I do not have a subcompact, so I wouldnt want it too small.

At Orschelns (local TSC equivalent I guess) yesterday, I noticed a BX cutter sitting beside a larger KK cutter. Didn't pay too much attention as I'm not in the market, but I did note that the top deck of the XB was bolted on using angle iron along the sides, rather than welded as in the KK. Also, they had one KK finish mower on it's side in a crate and I saw about a 1" ridge running just behind the middle blade along the top deck. I guess this is for strength, but it sure looks like a great place for cut grass to hang up.

I just ordered a Middle Buster/Subsoiler combo from TSC in the King Kutter XB line. They gave me the standard "3 weeks" line. We shall see.

It was only $118, which surprised me. The regular KK middle buster there is $99 and the subsoiler is $142.

They don't stock any of the XB line at my local TSC, they just have XB brochures.

I have a KK XB dirt scoop for my kubota BX 2200 (there's a lot of 2 letter abbreviations).

Works great - very well constructed. It's a poor man's FEL that saved me countless hours last summer moving stone mulch around and doing some minor landscaping. Sized great for the BX.
