Hi all,
Well I was weak for just one day over the winter and I ended up with a brandy-new m7040 4wd tractor
I mating up my old Ford 101 plow and seem to be having some problems. The furrow is just not neat and I seem to be getting the crap beat out of me plowing. I am going about 4mph and running the plow down about 6". I have broken the shear bolt on the front moldboard twice now. I never even knew it had a shear bolt. I have tried adjusting the landing lever and I think the rows are rolling over ok although showing some sod at times.
I looked at the tire spacing recommendations on the forum and honestly I don't think I am setup correctly with the m7040 but I am not sure what to do about it. Can I adjust the tire spacing without alot of grief?
I have a friend that will lend me a ford 3 bottom plow but I am not sure if the moldboard is bigger and therefore that might help me with the tire spacing.
Any advice is appreciated.
