I currently considering a purchase of either a box blade, rear blade or a landscape rake and not quite sure of the benefits of each or how much use I would get out of each unit?

Well you would need to tell us what you need to do in order to help you.

Do like I did - buy all three and then you are equipped for it all. :D

That's the ticket, those 3 plus a LPGB (land plane grader blade) and a Top and Tilt set and he will be all set. ;)

I bought a rear scraper blade for snow removal, and general ditch work.

I then bought a rear box blade for actual dirt removal/moving.

I'm buying a york rake on tuesday to fillin all the loose spots with fresh top soil.

So, just get an adj landplane with a rake attachement and you'll be all set lol

BOX BLADE i use to move dirt, scrap high spots, fill low spots

LANDSCAPE RAKE i use to move dirt, clean trashy areas of leaves, vines and whatever else, spread rocks and to revitilize old rock driveways and to generally rake an area clean.

REAR BLADE i dont have but i think my rake does a pretty similar job since the tines are so close. Although a blade would probably be better for snow removal and ditch work.

If i had to choose from just one attachment i have i would probably go with the landscape rake. Its a pretty good all around attachment if you learn to use it right.

Then again a lot depends on what you really need to do with your tractor.

We really need more information on what you intend to accomplish?

Try to be as detailed as you can, when you think you've told us enough, tell us a bit more. :)

Can you only buy one of the three?

Search this sight, there are some great "how to" threads here that will give you some great ideas about what you can do. Check these out

Also these YouTube and others will give you some ideas. Note some of the YouTube pieces do not show safe practices.

Without knowing what type of work you intend to do with the implement, it's pretty hard to recommend the best one for the job. But I can tell you that I admitted a mistake in thinking all I needed was a rear scraper blade. It was a cheapie, simple manual index model. I traded it for a box blade and landscape rake, never looked back. That pair of implements can do everything the scraper blade could, and much much more. That said, I also thought I needed gauge wheels on the rake. Another mistake. I used them so seldom, that they're just gathering dust in the shed now.

I agree with the other members in regards to you indicating your needs and uses for these implements. I only have a box blade which I use for moving dirt and I also use it on our gravel driveway. BTW, Welcome aboard and Best wishes.
