What is a good price to find a used cat 1 4' disc?

Depends on a lot of thing. Condition of bearings, type of bearings, condition of blades, type of blades, structure of frame, weight of frame, rust, and more.

Short reply: $400 or less for one in decent condition. 4' is pretty small.

There are different 4' disks, different in build, weight and over-all quality. The prices new range from $600-$900.

Since the Quad guys also want them for deer plots, the prices are screaming high, for used, and typically sell FAST!!! YMMV.

I just got to this one, a 12 x16" for $400. Offered $350 and the seller wouldn't budge, as there were a half dozen others lining up to look at it. Didn't blame the seller one bit. It is incredible. Had been looking for a few years.

I would recommend a good 6 tine 48" tiller instead.

bp - that is a really nice looking little disc in great shape. You weren't cheated by buying it for $400.

But we don't know what the OP is using it for or his budget.

A tiller is a good recommendation depending on the application.

Tillers are awesome. Yet, they're dear in price.

As Ted says, on Everything Attachments, "A good tiller is $1600+, in this size. A simple middle buster and disk for under $900." His words, not mine.

There's more than one way to skin a cat, I guess. I still like a disk for chopping down the garden stalks in fall. Just my preference.

I have one and am going to sell it. Didn't really do what I wanted it to. Just trying to figure out what to list it at and didnt want to list it over priced. It is capable of cat 0 but currently setup for cat 1. Can't find a brand on it anywhere. Is in great shape, not bent or tweaked, all spindles take grease snd turn freely. This is a horrible pic but maybe somebody can identify it. It has all solid discs, not the notched. I believe it may have been repainted but idk for sure.

Being a light duty, Cat 0/1 with, and I'm guessing, 12" plates?, I'd be honest and say that it will bring a few hundred bucks, but that's about it.

The weight isn't there and I'd need to know more about it's capability. There's still a market for what you've got there.

That looks like the same Brinly tandem disk I have. It is a very light model, but works well enough for my needs at the moment. Not the best at cutting through overturned sod though. A couple concrete blocks helped with the weight.
