Hooking up a backhoe

I am planning on purchasing a woods backhoe for my Bobcat tractor. The dealer told me I had to buy a hose kit to hook up the hoe. I do have a set of rear remotes. Can I just run the hoses between the backhoe the remotes or is there more to it than that?

Maybe woods doesnt ship them with the connecting hoses since there are different setup hoses and connections for each tractor?

Seems like for a $6-7K BH there would be enough $ margin to include.. As far as your rear remotes yes they should work for your BH,. but you still need a connection hose and fittings.

I would have the dealer mount this and assume this is the subframe too?

I had a woods bh90x. it was hooked up to the remotes. Worked very good. Hook up and open remote. Didn't matter which direction you pushed the handle

My Woods BH90-X came with a male and a female QC so if I were to run it off of the tractor's rear remotes I would have to morph the one female QC to a male QC in order to attach it to the RR.
There are decals on the BH that indicate which direction things will go when you push or pull a particular lever so if you do decide to use your existing RRs you stand a 50/50 chance of being right as per the decals-if wrong, just reverse the hoses and tie on a similar colored zip tie to one hose and the corresponding RR so the 50/50 thing will disappear on future hook ups.
Remember that you will have to tie the tractor's RR lever open to create a constant hydraulic flow to the BH.
I chose to go with the Woods hose kit.

Correct-but don't make the mistake I made and nowhere in the manual could I find it written. A few days after I had the BH90-X and subframe installed, I went through a detachment excersize in my shop, pulled away from the BH, tried the 3-PT lift and it dropped ok but would not lift, no leaks anywhere but also no lift. I called the shop where the install occured and they sent out the fellow who did the install. He tried several different attempts to make the 3-PT work but again nothing then the light went on. He attached the two (male/female) BH hose kit QCs on the tractor and the 3-PT lift was back in operation. We both kind of grinned at each other.:ashamed: That needs to always be done after detaching the BH in order to close the tractor's hydraulic circuit. That day I (we) learned why the hydraulic connection was designed with male and female QCs.

hose kit may refer to a power-beyond point. which bypasses a rear remote to supply constant flow to the BH.

I have half a power-beyond hookup on my tractor, the other half was removed by the dealer when they put a non-factory loader on the front. I just run my BH off of my rear remote tied in an open position. my woods BH cares which way the fluid flowes, so it cares which way the handle is pulled, but i like it pulled back because its easy to tie off so i just swap the hoses on the rear remote to get the flow the right direction. (then made an adapter to make one male and one female so i cant reverse it)

If he is going to be making the hoses you might ask him to make them a little long. On mine I could use an extra 6 inches to make it easier to hook up and move the hoe about when it's not connected to the tractor.

Also remember there's a lot of oil in there and it expands when it heats up. So if you disconnect it cold and you try to hook it up when it's hot out it may be difficult to click the fittings in.

If you are planning on having a subframe installed by others, be sure to have all of the removed OEM nuts, bolts and plate stock set carefully aside and returned to you once the job is completed.
