Actually if you read their website they are very upfront about the phone number business. They don't have a receptionist as it is a small company and they've set up an email system with call back. Nothing wrong in principle but it has failed so far in this case.

Let's not exaggerate. This seems to be a simple boneheaded failure of customer service not evidence of any planned or concerted effort to deny warranty service (yet). Small businesses that usually have the owner on site to deal with these things directly run into problems when the customers enter via cyberspace rather than the front door. That is no excuse for failure but these guys are not the first small business to have inadequate systems for customer service set up. Not everyone is Amazon.

I fail to see my exaggeration. A 72" "EXTEREME DUTY" grapple was offered for sale along with a one year warranty. Now it needs warranty work and no one at Skid Steer Express wants to wear the warranty hat! "Simple boneheaded failure of customer service"? How about "Dereliction and willful neglect from customer service". If a warranty is offered, it must be addressed in a timely fashion. Not anywhere near happening in the OP's case.

I have gotten all hot and bothered before on deals like this and in the
end I found out they were on vacation...

Companys that sell online and refuse to give a phone number usually are
moonlighters, work a real job by day and peddle items not even in stock
by night.

Send them SEVERAL FAX's in BOLD LARGE PRINT too, not just email.

Also try simply calling that fax number and keep saying HELLO HELLO HELLO,
sometimes people will pick up, BE SURE to take names.

IR, Those grapples arn't cheap either. What did your set up cost?

No, their grapples are neither light weight or cheap. Their prices are good for what they sell but those are a bit heavy for almost any CUT below 50hp. They all seem to have dual upper arms which I have never liked for a CUT (these guys do sell mostly to skidsteers which is a different market). They also don't sell a 48" model which many CUT owners, myself included, find perfectly adequate. For an alternative to their $1300 600lb grapple check out WildKat or whatever the old Markham grapple is called this week. 48" light duty 350-400lb grapple like the one in my avatar for between $600-900 or so.
