When should I use a flail mower (with standard hammers or blades) Vs. a MMM finish mower on an expensive orchard/field on a hill?
The property is approximately 3 acres with an Asian pear orchard in the middle.
I ask the question after I purchased both units....
I have a 60" MMM an a 64" Flail on a Kubota B7800. I use a 60" rotary mower to knock down the winter brush, then switch over to one or the other?
When I take off the FEL the MMM appears to be one of the best mowers ever. I do not have more then 2 hours on the flail so I am still in the adjustment period.
Know-it-all neighbors tell me the flail will change my life-not yet convinced. The Kubota MMM has an unbelievable cut, flail seems ok but so what?
Any advice?
Thank you!
