Ford 1510
I recently purchased a ford 2 bottom plow to use with my Ford 1510 tractor. I purchased the tractor from the original owner so he had the manuals for the tractor. The manual says the tractor will pull the 1 or two bottom plow. The plow is in good shape and has the coulter disc and furrow wheel. Any help on how to set the plow and tractor up would be a big help as I've never done this before. Thanks

That's some helpful video's on (Temporarily blocked due to reports of company closure). He mentioned adding coulter wheels. If yours has coulter grass cutting disc in front of each moldboard adjust them where they're about 2-3 inches above the tip of the moldboard. You want them to cut the grass but not dig to deep into the ground.

I would love to be able to use a tiller but our ground around here is semi-rocky to real rocky and is rough on tillers so I still use turn plow and disc.
A few of my neighbors use tillers but it don't take to many years before even the heavy ones are beat down.

I set up my 2 bottom plow by getting on level ground and driving the left rear tire onto a piece of 4x4 block of wood then adjust the lift arm and the top link so that both moldboards touch the ground at the same time when lowering the 3pt hitch. When it's level and touches the ground where it suppose to I set my lift lever to that point. After raising the plow at the end its easy to make another pass by letting it back down to the same spot.

I'm assuming you didn't get the plow from the same seller as the tractor. Is the model number plate still on the Ford plow and is it readable? If so what model number is it?
Measure the center-to-center distance between the two plow beams at the top where the frame is bolted together. This will tell us what size plow you have. I don't think you would want more than two 12 inch bottoms for that size tractor. Ford made a 110 series of economy plows for the CUT's, 12" and 14" double bottoms, or single 16". Or maybe you have one of the older slightly heavier plows made for full size utility tractor; I think those model numbers usually start with 10-.

Thanks Steave. I just joined and i"m already getting a lot a good info. The plow is in really good shape with coulter disc for both plows and it also has the furrow wheel. Thanks again.

I'll be picking the plow up next friday. They are 14" plows and there is a tag on it. I'll check it out and get back to you. In the manual it says it is compatibale wit a two plow 12' and 14' or 1 bottom 16". Thanks
