Hi there,
I am new to Tractorbynet, but have a recent experience I wanted to share with my tractor operating peers. I recently moved to a 20 acre parsel of land in Colleton County, SC, and couldn't believe how much stuff I had accumulated over the sixteen years I had stayed at my previous address. After some 35 trips, one hour each way, one round trip per day, with my one ton truck and twenty two foot trailer for my Kubota, I am nearly and finally almost done with the move. For the heavier items I had to move, a neighbor with a tractor helped me load them on my trailer using his pallet fork attachment. Once I got home, I found it somewhat tedious to harmess those heavy items and take them off the trailer. I talked to my dealer about a pallet fork attachment, hoping to find a used one, but with no luck there, I went on Ebay to start searching. It didn't take long for me to find the PERFECT solution. atvxpress (Ebay username), also doing business as www.palletforks.com had a pair of detachable forks that were very reasonably priced, ($169.00 per pair) and came with free shipping. These forks by Triton could handle loads up to 4000 lbs., and looked like they would do the job nicely. I didn't know just how nicely they worked until they arrived a few days later. Since purchasing them, I had been wondering if they would fit on my 4 in 1 bucket, or whether I would have to do a tedious change of buckets to my stock Kubota 6ft bucket. I was thrilled when they fit right on the 4 in 1 bucket! I dogged down the attachment bolts, and went right to moving things around the property. I had not only added a new implement to my arsenal, I figured out several uses for the forks with the 4 in 1 bucket...making it now a 5 in 1 bucket! I can do negative lifts by opening the bucket and reaching down well below where normal pallet forks can go. I cleaned out an entire ditch line this way, and it was a breeze. I also found out I could reach a lot higher than I could before when I had the bucket open, so I removed all the broken limbs that were dangling from when I cleared the homesite and driveway. Once I settled down and got serious moving large items like my 32 cubic foot refridgerator, to my surprise and delight, I found out a whole new function this set up has that beats the pants off of a regular set of pallet forks. By opening the bucket some, I was able to clearly see the tips of the forks for perfect fork height adjustment and placement. I have used other variations of pallet forks, ones that were permanently attached to a regular bucket, and ones that were standard pallet fork attachments, and with both of those, I had had to act like a contortionist to get a glimpse of where my fork tips were, and were they were heading in relation to what I was picking up. Not with these babies! The first picture I posted is taken from the drivers seat of my M5640SU 4x4 Kubota while I go to pick up an old pallet. The next one is heading down the road and looking through the bucket at the forks. I'm also picking up a couple of telephone poles from behind a pile of grass covered dirt, and the final picture shows the bucket all the way up, and the forks folded back and down and nearly touching the canopy of the tractor. This configuration gives me the tightest possible turning radius without worrying about hitting items above...very compact this way, and very cool. All in all I have to, in all honesty, give these forks 5 stars all the way.
Did I mention how fantastic it was to work with www.palletforks.com? Those folks know customer service, and they know their products. While teaching myself all the great things this set up could do, I mistakingly got the forks crossed while picking up and moving my extra heavy duty 6ft 1500 lb bush hog. Once I got the implement where I wanted it, and backed the forks out of the bush hog brackets, I found that the strain I had put on the forks by crossing, and then lifting, carrying, and setting down this cumbersome implement had actually bent one of the dog down bolts. Even though I could hook the forks to the bucket with chain and binders which it is designed to do, I like the bolt on application for the easy on and off procedure...it takes about one minute for each fork to be put on or taken off! So I wrote Bill at www.palletforks.com, told him what I'd done, and offered to pay for the new bolt and 2nd day ground shipping so I wouldn't be without for too long. Before I even got a response from bill, I got a shipping notice with tracking info. They had already sent me a new bolt, even before writting to tell me they were doing it at their expense. Now that's customer service!! I have also been shopping for a 3 point backhoe attachment, and they have a seven foot Triton model that costs less than half what a Woods does, and looks even sturdier, and has a hydraulic thumb too! Under 3k! I'm saving up for that one, but that's where I'll get it when the time comes, and those are the people I intend to do as much tractor related business with as I can. I can't say enough good things about them, their forks, and their willingness to help. Take a minute to check out these economical and super handy forks at www.palletforks.com , you won't be sorry. If anyone wants to see more pictures I took a ton of them to share with my friends, so don't hesitate to ask, OK?
Thank you for taking the time to read this, and thank you for having me here at tractorbynet.

Keep on tractoring!!
