Somewhere on one of these boards a member wrote that he attacted a chain or chains from the tractor to the bush hog so the deck dropped to exactly the same height each time. Sounds like a good idea but I don't remember the points to attach too. Someone willing to help me out. Will appreciate the help. Please email me at dale@motorcyclememories.com

This thread has an excellent diagram for what I think you are referring to.

A little late but here is a source:

http://stevens tractor.com/chain-limiter-kit.html

For some reason the link will not go directly to the "CHAIN LIMITER KIT"; search for same on Steven's Home Page.

Here are two photos which may be helpful: IMG_0368.JPGIMG_0367.JPG

Once you get to their website, click on equipment parts and then click on rotary cutter parts. The limiter chains then come up.

On my KK 5 footer, I attached the welded on hole bracket on the chain end, to the bottom fwd bolt on the 3 pt uprights. The brackets with the two hole gets put on your toplink pin. One on each outboard side of the toplink bracket. Then put your links through the hole with the slot and adjust for the height you want. I count the links and the last link I slide into the slot. Be sure to put the weld on the link up as it can jam in the slot otherwise. I but the chain thru the upper bracket from the inside to the outside. The angle on the bracket makes it easier that way. I still use it on my brush hog.
