The drawing given you is wrong by virtue of being simplistic. Much better referencing is necessary to make parts that will fit.

Just because it is "simplistic" does not make it a bad drawing or wrong. I did not say it was a blueprint. I said it was a drawing and as a drawing, I was using it as a reference, which fits my tool carrier...................and my KMW loader bucket.

You have to make assumptions for where the measurements are taken from - inside or out. It is thus impossible to make confident conclusions.

Brandi look at the drawing again. The 16 9/16"-16 5/8" is the measurement to the edge of the hole at the bottom closest to the tractor/skid steer. The dimension to the left, 15 7/8" is the one you should be looking at. Then If manufacturers build at 16" they allowed an 1/8" for clearance. They may have built at 16 5/8" and that's why you are 1/2" too much gap.

Zebrafive,
This morning I posted with no sleep after working in the humid heat all night. Now that I have had a "nap" and a Coca-cola, I have printed the PDF and my "simplistic" drawing. Now as to the PDF file. First off...........that design's lower angle is nothing like my KMW bucket, my grapple, or my spare QA adapter plate I bought at a RB Auction.

However, 16 5/8 to 16 9/16th inch is the overall dimension between the upper and lower mount APEXS. This dimension is a direct result of the angle apex dimension of 15 7/8. What I am trying to say is some folks are using 15 7/8 and some folks are using 16 5/8 +- 1/8 inch for the distance between the upper and lower "mounts". This is the problem. If these two different dimensions do not "intersect", it is builds in sloppiness.

Notice the photos below to see the difference from the PDF file's lower design. Now for the coup de grace...............when you read the PDF file you will see the notes down near the bottom of the page it says.............................NOTE...Some attachments may require added support structure to the attachment interface between surfaces A and B. ;) Also, I believe the QA tool carrier manufacturers are to blame also, as my tool carrier lower mount and latches are different from what is on a Mahindra 4110. So one can not really point a finger at a particular attachment manufacturer.
hugs, Brandi

Larry,
Why does it seem if I say it is black, you comment it is red? This time...........you really need to study the PDF file and the drawing I posted. Each document shows the measurement coming from the apex of the angle. No assuptions. FYI.........the apex is not on the inside.:D

Dont know. I referred only to the drawing given to you that you posted. You have to assume apex on one view and interior on the other. A size for size fit results if the apex enters fully into the implement plate. Not adviseable. ... So you then have to further assume a true entry limit and tolerance.

Titan Skidsteer has a history of poor fit and finish and then offering money back or pay for a local retrofit when the customer is not completely happy. They have good prices but bounce in and out of customer responsiveness. Lately they have been more responsive but the quality issue lingers. The odd part is that they sell adapter plates that measure balls on. Those look to be machine welded and cut. Their actual attachments like the forks and grapple seem to be hand made from what I have seen. I am guessing they make one and resell the other. Which is which, I do not know. There are other posts in TBN detailing issues with Titan, but the attached post covers the same basic issue except on forks. In my opinion the issue of proper fit at the pin points when on a grapple is not acceptable as shown in this post's pictures. It may be on a set of forks, but not on a grapple due to the backwards pulling nature of grapples.

Brandi - did you ever get your shims? If so, how is the grapple working now?

VirginaiAgent,
I have been so busy on my new pond here Instant Pond, I forgot to post photos of the shims and welding. I had it welded up on the 5th. 4 plates each 1/4 inch thick. I asked for 3/8 inch thick shim plates. But we tack welded 2 per side and all seemed fine. Since it is nats on now, it needs a little finesse to unhook. Hooking up is a breeze. Last unhook was a breeze also. Guess it will take on and off a few times to get the corners and burrs smoothed out. I had my trailer fender inner skins tack welded at the same time by the same welder and he only charged me $50. I am not afraid of it now, so the kids gloves are off.

Oh yeah, I spray painted it gloss black when it was still hot from welding. It can not be too hot or the paint will blister. Taking it on and off hasn't hurt the new paint.
hugs, Brandi

Good to hear. I still wonder why Titan Skidsteer Pallet Forks does not just make them closer to standard dimensions since this is nearly the only complaint people have. I am curious if anyone has made a recent purchase and if they have improved at all.

Just ordered a grapple from Titan yesterday , so I'll post the fit and finish when it come's in.
