Could be a nice attachment, but no way I'd try to use that ripper as a pushed implement. Your FEL isn't designed for that kind of load. Imagine hitting an obstruction with it. It could tear your FEL to pieces. Rippers need to be pulled, not pushed.

Only thing that will rip is a loader to pieces .

Nah. I have a similar bucket spade attachment (QuickSpade) and those have been in use for some time. No reports on here about damaging the loader. Of course it would help if you had a beefy cutting edge and presumably will be ripping and digging at low speeds, but I would seriously doubt you could hurt a bucket (certainly not the loader itself) with that device.

Regarding pulling v pushing rippers, I don't think that is a big concern when you have just one 4 or 6 inch ripper in the ground. How is that any worse than having four or five grapple tines in the ground a similar depth? It would be easier on the loader IMO because it is centered on the bucket. Grapple root raking is riskier (and a reason to do it only with narrow grapples) because an off center obstruction like a big rock or root would twist the loader. The way this rip and dig thing is mounted it would simply stop the tractor and distribute the forces equally down both FEL arms. Just the same as digging with a regular bucket and hitting something midline.

As stated earlier, the safe way to do this sort of ripping is at low speed. You'd need that anyway for traction and power so used properly I just don't see this thing damaging a loader.

Again, I don't disagree with the general statement about pulling vs pushing but you need to consider that grapple rakes are pushed too and people are not damaging their FELs when that is done reasonably. The instructions for the Rip and Dig clearly state that forward ripping should be done at speeds less than 2mph. I don't see how a single ripper, mid-line mounted is any worse for a tractor FEL than pushing with a bucket. I certainly agree that tractor FELs are not bulldozers but don't see this ripper thing as any worse than pushing with a regular bucket or 4n1 which is done all the time.

I would have to agree, too much stress.

What kind of sissy tractors are you guys buying that you worried about your Fell comming apart, I have dug 5' holes, plowed snow for years, tumbled boulders I couldn't lift. I hardly think a ratchet rake could do any damage to my loader. What exactly do you use your loader for if your afraid to use it to push into a pile of dirt

Read the specs sheet on it. The ripper is held on by 2 bolts and only rips 8 inches deep.
