Re: HF Quick Hitch
Thanks PhysAssist, its a L3800 HST Kubota, just turned over 3 hours! So I did a little repair work on a berm to channel some runoff out at my place and used both tractors due to me being lazy and not wanting to take the blade off old Ferguson because it is not adapted to the quick hitch which I have on the new one, seems like one is a tractor and one is a sports car with a loader! Really like it so far.

Re: HF Quick Hitch
thanks GKH 7890. I knew my blade was not going to fit the QH due to the way the 3pt tower is built but at 1st glance I thought the BHog would lift, but i tried the other day and there are 2 pins or bar spacers ,one in front of the other, keeping the strap steel spread under where you hook the toplink on the BH and the top hook of the QH is so fat it wedges itself in between those two bars and keeps the hook from seating. I just looked at it a little and can probably come up with a fix fairly easily. Working on a weight box now.

Re: HF Quick Hitch
You're entirely welcome!
Your new "ride" sounds great!
Sometimes I think we could've done better with a bigger machine like one of the L-series, but we have some really tight places to get through, so I don't think it would've helped as much as all that.
Sounds like you were being efficient to me.
When you need to get jobs like that done, sometimes you have to do what's most expedient to get 'er done in the quickest time frame possible.
Sometimes you have to save the fiddling around required to adapt your tools for a more leisurely day.
As long as you have it ready for the next job...
I had never used/driven any tractors except old Farmalls until we got the Kubota, and you're entirely right about the differences between the newer tractors and the old faithfuls.
BTW, to get the adapter from HF, I had to call their customer service number with the HF-QH part number, and pay'em about $20 [shipped].
It has helped with some of my hook-up problems, but not all of them, so if you can fabricate/weld metal, it might be better to make your own.
It just looks like a squared-off "Y" with the double end at the QH, and the bottom at the implement.
I'm contemplating making another [longer] one that will fit my implements universally.

PhysAssist- Good to know about the HF adapter, just looked at the Agri-Supply catalog i received Friday and it lists an adapter for their QH which looks a alot like the HF, so I look online and typed in the item # and it looks just like you described. I usually buy my mower blades from AS and when I order I may just pick up the adapter also its only 9.99.Andy

That's great- a better deal than HF is always good to find.

Bruce, seems like it is, somehow the # you used did not ring a bell, only because i had to write the # down and bring it home from my cabin when i originally looked it up. I found a March catalog at home here and it was in there. Not sure how to put links in, if the link dont work try #80717

Re: HF Quick Hitch
I have a harbor freight QH. Actually this is my 2nd one. The first one was only 26 inches wide, the one I use now is 27.5 inches wide. There has been LOTS of discussion about these hitches but the wider one is the one to have. I have all of my equipment except for 2 implements set up to use the quick hitch and I am working on fixing one of them. I have a Ford 102 Series 2 bottom rollover plow (picture in my profile) that I doubt I can come with any workable solution for using the quick hitch with it but my rears flail mower should be no problem if I just get with it and do it. I really don't understand why the mower, for what it cost, was not QH compatible from the factory but oh well...
this thread

has pictures of my QH hooked to my blade.
For me, it is a simple matter to convert any implement that isn't already QH compatible and I do it without hesitation. It is just so much easier.
Also a hydraulic top link (which I have) and a hydraulic side link (which I don't have) make any un-level hookup issues moot.KK 72" tiller Rears SPF 72 inch Flail, FL960 knives, Cammond BS72E 6 foot BB,

Re: HF Quick Hitch
Went to HF this morning with a friend who was in need of a cheap air compressor . Anyway while looking aroung I knowtised they did not have any quick hitch attachments on display. I did not need one but asked manager if they had any. He said yes.
Turns out they had a CAT 2 in back, manager said I could have it for $ 67.82 tax included.
Then while at register it turns out they had some kind of promo where I got a tape measure thrown in with deal.
He said it was the only one they had in stock. Also BTW those little generators they (HF) sells for about I believe for about $100 were sold out due to potentential FL hurricane threat. I also asked manager if they had any return generators out back I could buy "as is" but they did not have any, thinking I could buy one and repair cheap.
