HF Quick Hitch
Anyone use the Harbor Freight quick hitch? Read some of the reviews and seems to be an issue with an adapter that is needed for some equipt , but they dont sell the adapter. I could probably make one if i see exactly whats needed. Just wondering if anyone has had any luck with them. Andy

Re: HF Quick Hitch
If you want that type of QH then HF is as good as any. IMO they are all a hassle unless every piece of equipment you use is set up to use that type of hitch.
There are many threads discussing the pros and cons of such QHs.2009 Kubota M7040, R1s, LA1153 FEL, fork lift, 3 rear remotes, T&T

Re: HF Quick Hitch
I got the adapter, but have not actually needed for any attachments because of the adjustable hook. The adapter is not listed on the website, but if you call them they know exactly what you need and you can order it. The hitch works fine, but as I've noted before, be prepared to do a little grinding on the hooks if they are not forged exactly right.

Re: HF Quick Hitch
s a farmer with big tractors in addition to my NH compact, the HF quick hitch is rather lightly built. Flimsy, would be another word.
However, for a compact tractor, that seems to be a good thing.
It's light weight enough to put on & off pretty easily, and seems to hold up to the compact loads I've given it. So it gets a good rating from me.
An early batch that was shipped seemed to have an issue where the lower sockets were too narrow, so it didn't fit on some tractors. Mine is just fine, it seems the newer batches have been corrected?
The top adaptor is needed for some 3pt equipment that didn't follow the rules, so the top hook doesn't have clearance to grap the implement. It is available from HF, but they don't advertise it.
All in all, a very good value.

Re: HF Quick Hitch
Especially if you use the perpetual 20% off coupon and catch it on sale
.
I did order the adapter and I still ended up having to modify the hitch on my "Kubota"- branded ballast box [which my local Kubota dealer "threw in with" with my tractor] because the brand spanking new [when we bought it] box doesn't conform to the correct category 1 hitch standard
.
I know we only have a tiny little compact tractor [Kubota B2320] but using the HF QH, it still manages to pull our tiny little 48" Rollover boxblade and the QH doesn't seem strained by it at all, even in 4WD with hubs locked to keep all the tires from spinning in place

Re: HF Quick Hitch
Thanks for the replys,I picked one up last Saturday for $90 a HF. Looks like my Brushhog will pick up OK but the 3 point on my blade was not built for it. Looks like Agri-Supply has a adapter for their QH, which looks a lot like the HF. Never did see the HF adapter. Didnt really get too involved because my new tractor was delivered Monday morning!

Re: HF Quick Hitch
I just got a cat1 quick hitch yesterday at HF on sale for $79. Fliped out my 20% discount coupon, got a free LED flashlight and was out the door for $65. The clerk was kind enought to put my 20% coupon back in to my bag so that I would come back. If it doesn't work out I'll take it back. Gave my wife the flash light for her car but didn't tell her it was free. She thinks I'm so thoughtfull, , , By the way they had an open box CAT2 hitch for $79 as well. The store is in Citrus Heights Ca.if anyone is interested. A gut could probally talk to the manager and get it for $50.. just a thought

Re: HF Quick Hitch
I've had one now for a year or so. Did not get the adaptor. Some equipment works well with it....Woods Brush Bull 72 and others have a tighter fit.....KKII 72" tiller.
By accident, the bottom bolt came loose and out. So, the top pin "hook" pivots and this has worked out so well with my Brush Bull!!!! The pivoting actually lets the cutter float up and down when I need it too. Building a 3pt sprayer right now and setting it up to fit the QH. I really like it. If you don't have level land to sit your attachments on, it can be frustrating to hook up sometimes. I don't think you'll be disappointed once you are past the "learning curve" if you know what I mean?
Bist wishes for success!!
