Default Stump grinder best on 3pt tractor or skid steer ???????

Thinking about getting woods stump grinder. Have JD 5410. And Takeuchi TL 140. What is best Tractor with PTO power in rear or skid steer with hydraulic power in front. Thanks for your opinion. Greg B

Just my .02, but I'd go for the Takeuchi mounted unit. I think you'd work much faster and the machine is better built to take those kinds of stresses than a tractor 3-pt. hitch.

I would go with whichever has the most hp. The 5410 would easily handle it, but if the skidsteer has more HP then go with that, I assume it does.
Your specs may list how much hydraulic hp it has, based on pressure and flow.

I have a much smaller tractor and really want more power, but as far as size goes I can handle it just fine, the tractor doesn't vibrate or shake much at all when using the grinder. Sure would like double the PTO hp though

Visibility would most likely be substantially better from the skidsteer. I can see enough from the tractor seat to work it fine, but more visibility is always better.
