I have a long granite driveway and I am looking for 3 pt equipment that could be used for maintaining it. I have a small 26 H.P. Kubota BX 2660 4x4 with cat 1 3pt hitch. Does anyone have suggestions? Thanks

Depends on the condition and what you want to do. Box blade, rear blade, and land plane (aka, grader) all have their place.

I have an old box blade to smooth and fill, an old scraper blade to bring gravel back in, and borrow a rock rake sometimes to just neaten things up. The land planes are great, but cost more. A lot will depend on how bad your drive is, how long and how steep... And how much you want to spend.

Pretty much the same as everyone else, we use to do that with our BX2660, but there are a lot of variables like terrain as mentioned and material to move. We used a box blade primarily, but a scrapper blade will work. I have never used a land plane, so I just don't know.

I have a fairly heavy-duty Farm King 6' landscape rake which works great for maintaining my 800' gravel drive. It far easier than using my rear blade.

See if you can borrow a box and a land plane and see which one works best for you? I'm absolutely horrible with a box in the driveway! :muttering: Having said that, the land plane makes me look like a superstar... :D

I'd say alot of it is what you get used to using and what fits your terrain. The good news is that whatever you tear up in the driveway is fixable!

being your in WI. a rear blade would come in handy with dealing with snow. and also help with driveway maintenance. rear blades can help pull loose rock out on the side back into the drive way.

you did not mention a FEL (front end loader) with a bucket. so moving material rock / dirt around. to help with pot holes and smoothing things out. a box blade would come in handy for you in that respect.

if you end up with rock out in the grass after dealing with snow. a 3pt hitch rake might help bring the rock back into the driveway. vs getting out there with an old metal hand rake and manually raking in all the rock.

Welcome to TBN
I also have a long driveway and a 30 hp tractor. We have a spring mud season here. I use both a rear blade and a landplane grading scraper. For general surface maintenance and smoothing things like shallow pot holes and washboard you can't beat the grading scraper. But if you need to move alot of material around to fix a washout, deep ruts, or deep pot holes you need something else like a rear blade or box blade. There is lots of info on here. If you search "driveway" you will be able to read til you are blue in the face and get lots of differing opinions.
