Rear Blade I nearly forgot. Pictures of my landpride RBT3584

I have a question. Anyone taken off the lower plate on the back of their rbt35 or 40 that is held by two bolts? I started to take it off to see what is under it (looking for all play adjustments) and now I can't get it back on. Goes in most the way and then seems to be hitting something solid.

Darn, I wish I hadn't tried to take it off...curiosity killed the cat.

Probably needs to get realigned on the opposite side.

I'll see if I can find some pictures of how he put the system on. Remember, he has an M7040, not an L model.

It got worse before it got better but the short version is I took the plug back out and used a visual inside to line both sides up using the 3pt hitch and also top.

I got it back together, but not until I had wasted an hour screwing around probably.

Bottom line, nothing to see in there. It's just the bearing surface for the tilt to pivot on. Grease fitting on the bottom (external).

Also be warned the bolt heads on the cap are extremely soft so make sure you have a good fitting (6pt best imo) socket.

Now I know.....lol

I can see from using the blade for a couple hours that the hydraulic tilt would be more useful than I thought it would be (I already have hydraulic top and tilt). With the blade offset and angled a lot, using the 3pt tilt changes more than one "plane."

I haven't used the gauge wheel yet, but I can imagine hydraulic gauge wheel would be handy.

So at some point I might add a couple rear remotes.

now I am kicking myself for not buying a local rbt40 for sale recently that was fully hydraulic. It was longer than I wanted, but was third of the price I ended up paying. The main reason I didn't buy it was I didn't think I needed so many functions to be hydraulic......ha

I have an RBT3584 with hydraulic tilt and angle, but manual offset. My tractor has two rear remotes. At the time I purchased the blade I imagined that hydraulic offset wouldn't be very useful, but after having it a couple of years I've come around to thinking: 1) When you buy a tractor, max out the remotes and 2) fully hydraulic blade is worthwhile.

Everyone's needs are different. In over 7-8 years, not one time have I needed the tilt on my RBT45108 which is why I have it with the manual tilt. The hydraulic tilt on the 3pt has always been more than enough for all of my conditions-situations.;)

I am still a newbie, but since most of what I am doing first is ditching and crowning narrow, tight, unlevel roads through the woods with trees on the sides with roots that cause challenges, I think hydraulic tilt would be helpful.

Because it would allow me tweak tilt more independently than I can with my 3pt tilt. With my rear blade offset and angled and tilted, the 3 pt tilt changes much more than the tilt of the blade. Seems like hydraulic tilt would give me a more isolated tilt.

Having said that, if I only had 4 rear remotes (and unfortunately I only have 3 so far) I would use 3 pt top and tilt, and hydraulic offset and angle. Seem the most versatile.

If Kubota had designed their OEM rear remotes to take 4 and had made room for 4 regular levers I certainly would have sprung for that initially. 5 rear remotes sounds even better.

You have said a couple of times how you wish you had more SCV's on the back end. I added a few to mine and detailed what I did in this thread.

http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/hydraulics/260184-adding-multiple-hydraulic-control-valves.html

I now have a total of 5 SCV's that I can use on the back if I need/want. It is very nice. Don't know if you could do anything like it on your tractor as I am not familiar with it and its design. Shortly after I finished mine I saw what another person did on their JD (another forum) and really liked their design as well. More compact but more exposed hoses in their design.

I count 3 pt tilt same as having tilt on the blade, only smarter since the 3-pt tilt works for every implement.

This is true and I agree. Back before I had my Land Pride, I had a Mid West manual adjust blade. I did a few ditches with it, set the manual angle and fine tuned the rest using the hydraulic side link on the 3pt.

This thread is a few years old but we are considering the RBT35 three way hydraulic actuated back blade for leveling dirt. Like to hear back from users. Still like it? Any problems? We'd use the 7ft version with a 40 series compact from JD.

The Land Pride RBT series blades are very good blades and the RBT 3584 will be a good match for your JD. Depending just how you will have the tractor set up, you maybe could make use of an RBT 3596.

Highly recommend that you get the skid shoes, they really help out in just about every condition-situation.

I have an RBT 45108 for my bigger tractor, hope to get an RBT 3584 for my smaller tractor one of these days.
