Quick Hitches quick hitch problems

I have one on my BX. I havent found a need for any bushings since the pins are captured and the allowed slop in the loose fit has never been a problem. There could be cases where it is I guess, but in most situations its just aesthetics. I do use a 7/8" washer just inside the lynch pins tho.

Well in case anyone has money to spare, and wants the correct Cat 1 to Cat 2 Speedco adapters, I found some while perusing online at EBay. They are at about the same pricepoint as the TSC ones, but with free shipping, so they at least would be good for anyone without a nearby TSC...

$105 for 5 sets with free shipping....

Here's the link to the site:

Well, your dealer may be right. I doesn't NEED bushings, but I sure would WANT bushings. The lower hooks will accept 1 7/16" pins, but your lower pins are 7/8".

One dimension I never see mentioned is the width of the Quick Hitch end frame opening where the 3-point draft arms insert and secure with a pin. In other words, how thick can your draft arms and ball swivels be and still fit inside the channel on the Quick Hitch? Does anyone have access to this dimension on the John Deere, Land Pride or Speeco quick hitch?

It is around 1 3/4"

Here are the pins I got from Fastenal for the lift arms. They are 7/8" x 2 1/2" and they fit real nice.

While I was there I picked up some 1/2" x 2 1/2" clevis pins for the toplink hook to replace the longer ones I got.

I hope to get it painted one day this week if I can find the time and it is not too humid. Next time I post it will have pictures of the finished product.

I finally got a chance to paint it. It's not a show car paint job but it is good enough for a tractor attachment.

My Land pride QH-15 Quick Hitch was delivered today - along with a new Land Pride RB1560 rear blade. My first adventure with a Quick Hitch. I was anxious to install it on my 2720. What a disaster! The QH15 married up to the tractor just fine but I cannot get it to grab the RB1560 to save my sole! Normally, mounting the blade to the 3PT takes about 5-10 mins. Using the Quick Hitch was a two-man 30-min job with a lot of fowl language being thrown around. First, the lift arm bushings that Land Pride sends with the QH15 are worthless for regular implements. They are straight walled bushings and only 1.5" long so they just float around on the 3PT pins. The second problem is I had a terrible time getting the top hook to fit between the blade housing and grab the top pin. It keeps getting snagged on the sides and that just throws off the lower connections. It's almost as if the top part had insufficient clearance. It WILL fit but only when carefully guided by hand. Oh, and then when you do get it inserted it comes into contact with the hairpin clips that holds the hook in place and sends the hairpin shooting across the driveway.

I intend to stop by TSC and pick up a pair of "normal" lift arm bushings but what about the top link bushing? Is one required? It looks like the hook expects a larger diameter than the normal top-link pin. The manual really doesn't mention it. All the places that sell Quick Hitch bushings normally only show the two lift arm bushings. Rarely any mention of a top-link bushing.

I keep asking myself, is it supposed to be this difficult? :) If the new land Pride Quick Hitch has trouble with the new Land Pride blade, what hope to I have for my other implements.

I'm going to tackle it again over the weekend once I have a real set of lift arm bushings and have had a chance to clear my mind. I doubt though it will help the issue of my hook snagging the sides when trying to get at the top-link pin.

Any words of wisdom? I will post some photos if I continue to run into problems.

That rb1560 looks almost identical to the woods rbc60 I have. I just got the bushings for the top link pin 2 days ago. i have not got it setup for the qh yet. When you have a qh you go from cat 1 to cat 3. Where you using the top hole or lower hole for the toplink on the blade? You will need to use the lower hole toplink hole for the quick hitch. That hole is cat 0-5/8''. I was asking jenkinsph where he got his bushings for the toplink and he had the idea of drilling it out to a cat 1 hole. Then you will only need 2 bushings.
I don't not recommend going to tsc for those bushings. They are a rip off. Northern tool was the cheapest place I could find them.
Post some pictures if you run into more problems.

Thank you for the reply. I was using the lower hole for the top link. The hole accepted my normal 3/4" top-link pin.

I know the TSC bushings are a bit more than some on-line sources but I have some time this weekend to tinker and there's no time to mail order. Once I get the blade figured out I will buy my other bushings on-line.
