Thank you for the reply. I was using the lower hole for the top link. The hole accepted my normal 3/4" top-link pin.

I know the TSC bushings are a bit more than some on-line sources but I have some time this weekend to tinker and there's no time to mail order. Once I get the blade figured out I will buy my other bushings on-line.
have you tried taking the tophook off to see if it is long enough to reach toplink pin?

I intend to stop by TSC and pick up a pair of "normal" lift arm bushings but what about the top link bushing? Is one required? It looks like the hook expects a larger diameter than the normal top-link pin. The manual really doesn't mention it. All the places that sell Quick Hitch bushings normally only show the two lift arm bushings. Rarely any mention of a top-link bushing.

.

Yes. Tractor Supply has top link bushings

Yes. As long as I carefully guide the top hook in, it reaches fine. It just wants to keep getting hung up on the sides. I will be attacking it this weekend and will post some photos if I cannot get it resolved. I'm still thinking it has to be something I am doing wrong.

My Land pride QH-15 Quick Hitch was delivered today - along with a new Land Pride RB1560 rear blade. My first adventure with a Quick Hitch. I was anxious to install it on my 2720. What a disaster! The QH15 married up to the tractor just fine but I cannot get it to grab the RB1560 to save my sole! Normally, mounting the blade to the 3PT takes about 5-10 mins. Using the Quick Hitch was a two-man 30-min job with a lot of fowl language being thrown around. First, the lift arm bushings that Land Pride sends with the QH15 are worthless for regular implements. They are straight walled bushings and only 1.5" long so they just float around on the 3PT pins. The second problem is I had a terrible time getting the top hook to fit between the blade housing and grab the top pin. It keeps getting snagged on the sides and that just throws off the lower connections. It's almost as if the top part had insufficient clearance. It WILL fit but only when carefully guided by hand. Oh, and then when you do get it inserted it comes into contact with the hairpin clips that holds the hook in place and sends the hairpin shooting across the driveway.

I keep asking myself, is it supposed to be this difficult? :) If the new land Pride Quick Hitch has trouble with the new Land Pride blade, what hope to I have for my other implements.

I'm going to tackle it again over the weekend once I have a real set of lift arm bushings and have had a chance to clear my mind. I doubt though it will help the issue of my hook snagging the sides when trying to get at the top-link pin.

Any words of wisdom? I will post some photos if I continue to run into problems.
Perhaps not supposed to be ... but likely to be when you try to take out all the slop with bushings. The slop as provided makes hookup more forgiving and seldom compromises performance. One thing I interpret from your description is a probable need to extend the top hook and thin it and bevel corners somewhat. I believe an earlier poster extended his hook about 1" with good result.

I agree. I too was thinking that perhaps bevelling the corners might help - both on the edges of the hook and the top part of the blade. The top part of the blade is a rather narrow channel that while designed to be Quick Hitch compatible, is very close tolerance. If it had just another 1/4" of clearance I dont think there would be a problem.

I appreciate the input. I'm going to tackle it again later this weekend when I have some time. I will report back.

I told you wrong about my woods blade, it uses the top hole for the toplink pin. I do not have any clearance issues with it. The woods blade is 1 3/4" a where the top hook goes. The top hook on my qh is not quite 1 1/4."

HI John in CT,

Thanks for that link- no matter how many times I looked at Northern Tools site in the past, I had never seen those there, despite searching for 3-pt accessories in every way I could think of.

I just ordered 2 sets of Cat 1 to Cat 2 adapters for 34.98 including shipping- 2$ more than one set at TSC BEFORE tax, and LESS than 1 set after NYS sales tax!

Thanks heaps!

Thomas

I thought I had even thing done to my qh. I went to hook up to the woods rcb60 and the 3ph would not go low enough to hook up. I have had problems using this blade and it coming off the ground with the 3ph all the way down if I hit a high spot and the same for the king kutter xb box blade. I was sitting there thinking how could this be fixxed and a light bulb went off.

I drilled a extra set off holes in it to raise it up 2 1/4" now I have more adjustment to it and the warranty is definitely void now. Shortly after my neighbor came in and told be he had a mag drill with a roto broach I could borrow to drill the holes, now I want one after using it to drill these 4 holes.

Did you have any luck with it?

Unfortunately no. You know the saying "best layed plans...". My hydraulic top link came in and I've been busy getting that hooked up and working with my blade. I have a slight clearance problem with one of the hoses. I need to use the blade now for some grading so tinkering with the Quick Hitch may have to take a back seat until I get some work done.
