I just recieved my new 3pth. 48" core aerator from GPC Metal Products. Very nice unit from what I see so far. I do have one problem though, the frame tab spacing ( The lower link mounting tabs that hold the cat 1 pins) is thirty inches wide without the pins installed. With the pins installed it will be 36" plus wide. My Bx arms don't open that wide!!!! All my other pieces of equipment have frame widths between 22 and 25 inches wide. With the pins installed they are between 28 and 31 inches wide. This frame is way to wide at the mounting points. I tried to install the pins pointing inward on the tabs but was unable to do so because my lift arms wouldn't clear the angle iron frame with the pins in place. Has anyone ever run into this with a piece of cat one equipment where the frame is to wide without the pins? I have a sneaky feeling that the lift arms were welded on in the wrong position, instead of 24 inch width they made it 30" between the lift tabs. I'm going to call them tomorrow and see what I can do. I don't know if cat 1,2,or 3 pins are spaced diff or what. If anyone could please shed some light on this I would be grateful, I also didn't recieve the cat one pins with this unit, now thats a first in my book. Confused in Delaware Mark

Cat 0, 1, 2 and 3 spacings are all diferent. I have a speedco quick hitch and even with just cat 1 attachments I have found different spacings. /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif I have had to pass on some equipment because I unable to adapt them to my hitch.

Normally, cat. 1 spacing is 26". I don't think that is cast in stone, but your piece of gear definitely sounds like cat. 2.

Just spoke with the folks at GPC they are going to send adapter plates they use to make the hitch point narrower. They stated that had they known they would have put them on at the factory. Nice folks to work with very helpful and from what I see they have a very rugged piece of equipment. Customer service seems to be a down home sort of thing " you have a problem we will fix it hence no problem. Bigguy
