I've decided on a kubota gl3540 for a new tractor so now it's time to get a couple of implements. I need a tiller and a 6" auger. I'd rather pay more and buy a long lasting product than go cheaper. I'm thinking a 64" ish tiller. I've heard of Taylor way and landpride for the tiller. Landpride seems to cost more but not sure if there quality is better. I was thinking landpride for the auger, I think there around 1250. Any thoughts or opinions would be appreciated.

I have had two Woods tillers.A 52" on a B7500 Kubota and a 60" on a 2910 Kubota.Never had a problem with either one.The smaller one got used on a few construction sites and went thru a lot of buried trash like 2x4s and fairly large rocks (like softball size) and wire.It never had a problem.With the larger one I have done mostly gardens and it's been great.

You should check out our post hole diggers/augers made here in NC in our plant. They are extremely high quality, about 1/2 the price of the Land Pride and also ship free to your home. I agree. King Kutter makes great gear driven tillers here in the USA and always provides us and the customers outstanding customer service.

I had a grand L 3240 and I used a 6 foot king cutter tiller with no problems. The tractor handled it fine. I tell you this because you were considering a 64 inch machine and your GL3540 will have a bit more power than my 3240 did. I still have the tiller but I upgraded to a GL5740 for reasons other than the tiller.
I have beat the crap out of my tiller (figuratively speaking) and it has never failed me.

Does anyone know if Taylor way and king kutter are the same company? The tillers seem pretty similar.

Unless you're putting in really small posts, you might want to consider a 9" auger. We put in fence posts from 4-8 inches in diameter, and the 9" auger gives you some wiggle room for alignment, plus room to tamp a little bit around the post once it's backfilled. A 9" auger will usually drill about a 10" hole.

Taylor Way implements are built in Athens TN, about 10 miles from my house. They have been around since 1946 and are a relative small, old time manufacturer.

Kingkutter is out of AL.
