Do you have the Harbor Freight 15KW PTO Generator? What do you think?

my NT has chinese writing all over it.. stickers inside with chinese characters.

the instruction manual has chinese stuff in the back.

COO says china.

I guess that's all incorrect then.. right?


remember.. the build date on mine will likely be 2003....

I guess NT got it right now with the Mec Alte head. Sorry for the confusion. Some times it takes a while for company to improve their product.

my gen head runs fine.. though happens to be a brushless design.. not the brush design from the HF being discussed.

PS.. assuming that because one is COO china, and the other is COO italy that the italian one is automatically superior is a fialure in logic..

you can get any level of quality from anywhere.

it all depends on who specced' the buy.. and how they specc'd it

Mec Alte is a world leader in gen heads and china is a world leader in population. I am not saying yours does not work fine. Trusting china for quality is a whole seperate conversation.

this will be my last post in this thread. I've no intention to argue that my gen head is chinese, from NT and does work.

quality is a realative term. price is relative as well.

design is relative.

all pieces to the puzzle.

all i'm saying.

i never accused alte of NOT being good quality. I merely said solely relying one one bit of data to determine what a product is or isn't is rearely good form.

anyway.. that's it from me.

yal'' can fight it out over who's more handsome and whatnot.

I checked on the PTO generator and it is supposed to be in the trucking terminal Friday. Hopefully I can pick it up Saturday morning. It is coming freight. So I may get to test run it.

Anyone care to explain why a brushed, or brushless design is superior? I'm not terribly knowledgable on electric motors.
