In the case of my 2320 I believe the throttle and my hand is the governor. I realize diesel and gas generators have built in governors.

I did a bit of research on PTO generators & I emailed HF with a few questions. A few things I liked were the GFI 120 volt outlets. The automatic voltage regulation module. Price. Also, what I found out about brush vs non brush seemed not to matter too much, the brushes are for the control voltage, not the output voltage, unlike the old brush motors. Here is a link for an interlock kit, does the job of a transfer switch manually, at a much lower cost: National Ram Electronics

Here is a edited email that I got from HF:

Thank you for your email inquiry. The part you are inquiring about is not stocked in the warehouse and will need to be special ordered from the manufacturer. This order process can take approximately 6-8 weeks for delivery. If you have any questions or would like to place an order for the part, you can call toll free at 1-888-866-5797. If you chose to send in a check, please ensure you include shipping and tax with the total cost. Our shipping rates can be located at Harbor Freight Tools.

    Do you sell replacement brushes?

    VENDOR PART DESCRIPTION PRICE
61 CARBON BRUSH WITH HOUSING $9.90

What country does the generator head come from?
    This unit originates in China.

What is the total harmonic distortion in percent?
    THD < 5%

Does the generator ship on a standard pallet?
Yes, this unit does ship on a standard pallet.

Is there any way that I can see one of these generators before I buy one?
You may be able to view this unit in a local store, but you will need to contact your local stores to check availability/inventory.
(Note: Every time I call a store, they say it is catalog only!)

With the generator on the 3 point hitch stand, what is the height above
    ground of the input spline?
The measurement you were looking for (ground to shaft) is approximately 24".

Can I apply one of the 20% off coupons on this item?
(Note: There was no answer to this question, but I think we all know the answer to this one--NO.)

We do apologize that it took so long to get back to you. Please advise if we can be of further assistance.

I have quick hitches that move the implement back about 4". If I did not have the quick hitch using a PTO extension may work but because the BX1500 uses the shorter shaft it will require a different shaft for each tractor.

on a diesel, your IP should contain what amounts to a governor.

and yes.. fuel usage is based upon load.. not specifically rpm..

mowing 7' tall grass at 540 pto rpm uses lots more fuel than triving around mowign NOTHING at 540 pto rpm.

it's just simple physics.. no free lunch....

What is IP? It seems I have to adjust the throttle myself, under a load the RPMs drop.

I'm jumping back in here. The IP is the Injector Pump. This is a link to what should be a manual for your Yanmar engine:
    http://www.masenorthamerica.com/Manu...odel%20TNE.pdf

In section 13, the governor & injector pump are shown. I suggest leaving governor and especially injector pump work to someone that has done this type of work before & know what they are doing. I got the manual from this link:

    [PDF]
    YA N MA R
    http://www.masenorthamerica.com/.../...odel%20TNE.pdf
File Format: PDF/Adobe Acrobat - View as HTML
This Service Manual describes the procedure of maintenance and service of the Yanmar industrial. TNE series engine ..... 13-1 Exploded views of governor for indirect injection system . ..... out U1... rating "W(HP) (12.2) (14.5) (24.1) (25.2) ...

Please verify that this manual is for your engine. I do not know much about the newer JD tractors & Yanmar engines. Hope this helps.
