I just sold my disks today and now im in the market for a tiller. What brand and what size? Gear drive or chain drive? I have a Massey Ferguson 231 tractor. Has 38 engine hp and 34 pto hp. Tractor weighs 4,065 lbs and is 2 wheel drive. Should i get a 5.5' or 6' width?

I will be buying within the next 2-4 weeks.

Thanks!

Does anybody know how i can get a TSC discount or coupons? A friend of mine bought a tiller a while back at TSC and used a coupon that had 10% off.

I'll second the King Kutter from TSC and suggest the 6 foot width. I love mine. If you can wait, they sometimes run coupons in the weekly ad. I had one when I bought my tiller.

I agree that a 6' will be the best width for your tractor. You can check out our selection of tillers here. We have the King Kutter, Everything Attachments, and Sicma/Phoenix brands. You'll also find several videos on the product pages explaining everything about the different brands. We will be glad to assist you so feel free to give us a call. All of our tillers ship free within 1,000 miles of Newton, NC to a business or supporting freight terminal. Good luck shopping!

Travis,
I have a similar sized Deere 820 with 31 pto hp and 4000 lb weight 2wd I use a Deere 673 tiller with it which is a good fit. I agree with the others here that the 6' King Kutter is a good choice for your tractor and conditions. Readiing your profile our interests are remarkably similar but you are a lot closer to the good eats.

Go in and talk to a manager. Apparently they have the ability to apply some discount, especially if at this time of year and if its been sitting at the store for a while.

I wasn't aware of that. Thanks

I been calling dealers all morning. Getting prices from $1775 to 3,000. Brands from Kodiak, King Kutter, Bush Hog, Woods, Anslung, Howse, and Taylor Pittsburgh.

Im interested in the King Kutter and Kodiak. I have also decided that i'm going with a 6 foot.
