1964 Ford 2000 LCG
Hi, i just come across this rotary mower and was wondering if they are good pieces of equipment? I think its the 5 foot model. I have a 1964 ford 2000 LCG that i will be using it with. Will this tractor be enough to handle it? Any info i can get would be appreciated. I am adding some pictures of what it looks like. It needs a lil work but nothing i cant handle. Thanks in advance.

generally a decent mower.. I had a 4' model a long time.

if it's cheap.. get it. your 2000 will handle it FINE.

i have never used or owned that make and model. But looking at the pictures, the gearbox appears to have seen better days. Is it functional? Just a thought. Best wishes.

Its free and they said they were using it last year and it was still working. Its in decent shape. I was just wondering if there was some info out there on it for replacement parts. Thanks

free is good!

i'd bet some parts are still available thru NH.. however.. mowers aren't much more than metal and a gearbox..e tc.

I have an owners manual that covers the 951 series.. has a parts breakdown in the back of the book.

I bought one just like it new in 1988, used it hard on a large piece of property for 5 years, then retired it next to the barn when I got a larger tractor. It's still out there, the paint still looks good, and there's nothing wrong with it. One of these days I'm going to buy an adaptor to use it on the front of my tracked loader. I mowed 20 acres of bottom ground covered with horseweed up to about 12 feet tall, hit limestone outcroppings with it elsewhere on the farm, and fragmented geodes a time or two. Cleared overgrown pasture of multifloral rose and saplings. Every time that bottom field flooded I found a new crop of surprises with it in the weeds. Get it.

Free is a great price. If it don't work out, you can always sell it for scrap and put that money toward another cutter. Here is the parts listing for it. Looks like there are some parts still available. Make sure this is the right model: Official New Holland Online Parts Store and Online Parts Catalog for New Holland and Ford Tractors.

Edit: It that is not the exact one, go to this link and type in 951. You can pick out yours from the list that will show up.

Thank yall so much for the help. The only thing that i can see is wrong with it is that hole in the deck on the front center under the three point hook up. Thats no big deal i dont think. I have metal and im a welder so it should be a fairly easy fix. Thanks again for all the help.

I have owned one since 1988, when I bought it new. It still works great after all these years.
