Branson 2910i
Been a member for just a couple years, but never had a tractor so I just kinda lurked in the shadows learning from all of you. Well, I just picked up a Branson 2910i with low hours (74) from the original owner. It's (hopefully) all I need in a tractor for my 10 mostly wooded acres, but it does not have a loader. The closest dealer is checking into it for me, and tells me it will probably run around $3800 (+-) for a quick disconnect unit. Anyone have any advice/options for aftermarket equipment like this? And thanks alot for sharing all your combined knowledge with a novice like myself - I'd be lost without it. And please, don't say "you bought a Branson so you must not have learned much".

Have you checked with any after market companies like Woods, Westendorf, Great Bend, etc. Some times they are a little less money but not 100% sure if they mount the same.

No comments on Branson since I just bought one myself...

Does your tractor have power steering? It makes a significant difference with loader operations. If it doesn't have PS, then you might want to check and see if it's available as an add on. If your tractor already has it, then go for it!

oldnslo (great name) I was really joking about the Branson thing - seems like no matter which tractor you buy there's some baggage with it. I haven't checked other FEL manufacturers out yet - but I sure will. I've seen some threads talking about issues with the hydraulics if it's not specifically designed for the tractor. I don't know..........I'm just happy to finally get a tractor to get a start on things.
