Rhino 10' pull behind shredder question (clicking sound when turning)

This will be my second year to use my 10' Rhino pull behind shredder. I will be using it behind my 7710 Ford. Last year I tried very hard to keep the CV joint well greased but it wasn't until the 2nd or 3rd time I greased it up, that I actually found the zirk for the CV joint. I had only been greasing the U joint. Anyway, during my mowing last fall, I noted that I would hear a faint click, click in the drive line when I would turn. I purposely did not turn very sharp, but I would hear this sound if I turned a little bit sharp. Is this normal? Is the sound my CV joint, or could the drive line on my shredder need shortening? Im planning to start shredding again soon and want to prevent any problems. I would like your feedback. thanks

Quite awhile back Bird posted about a site that told how to determine the right length for your pto shaft. Search for that subject on this forum. The directions were given for a bushog tiller. The directions apply to all PTO shafts. It was on page 9 of the bushog tillers owners manual if I recall. Google it if you can not find Bird's post on here. Very straight forward and helpful.

I have couple shredders 8,10,15ft and with all of them they make more racket when turned sharp,even the newer one,your putting alot of strain on drive-line when cutting it sharp. Try to idle it down some and see if it makes the same noise. Is it making the noise when the mower isnt under a load and turning hard?

Yes, only when turning. If I start turning and the noise starts, I can straighten out just a little and the noise goes away. I just assumed it was normal, but I mentioned it to my dealer and he said he did not like to hear any unusual sounds, even when turning. I just haven't used one enough to know what normal is.

Think maybe your turning it enough that the yolks are getting into each other? Thats a pretty good size tractor you got for that 10footer,it sets up pretty high also,try doing it with your mower lifted up or have you?
