Help Identifying backhoe buckets (lots of pictures)
Hi,
Really need some assistance! There are 2 backhoe buckets that I picked up at an auction hoping they would fit my machine.
(Uh... nope)
Here's some pictures of the buckets with a tape measure showing the size. The smaller bucket is very heavily built and feels
like it's over 100#. It also looks to be completely unused and has brand new pins. The larger bucket is also well built, but lighter
and is without pins. It looks new, but maybe dug one scoop of dirt. I'm guessing that they sat on a dealers back lot unloved
for a while. The small one is 18" across and the larger one is 24"
Any help in identifying them will be greatly appreciated!!

Re: Help Identifying backhoe buckets (lots of pictures)
Your not really measuring much by the way your holding the tape masure.
The pins themselves, you want to measure their OUTSIDE DIAMETER (OD) of the holes or your pins.
(The holes will be just a tad bigger than the pins but very close)
The holes in the buckets on any "one" side you want to measure CENTER to CENTER
You want to measure the INSIDE DIMENSION (ID) between left and right sides holes
where the pin goes. So measure from the center of the front hole to the center of
the rear hole.
So measure that ON YOUR HOE and do not buy anything that does not equal what you have.Regards,

Re: Help Identifying backhoe buckets (lots of pictures)
well i dont know that i would completely follow that advise.
its easy to bush larger pins for smaller ones, and its easy to weld spacers on the inside to make a 8" wide spaceing into 7" wide. pin to pin dimension really doesnt matter as that affects curl amount unless you have some sort of quick attach.
conversely if you picked up a really inexpensive quality bucket, its easy to justify a few hundred to have the ears cut off and rewelded with larger pin size if it wont fit your machine.
were you at? i could use a 24" bucket... as well as a 10" oneSteve - TC33D 4x4 FEL, dual rear remotes with toys
