Another tool to add to the food plot arsenal. Its a Alamo flail mower 8' wide. I dont have too much more info other than that. Its missing some blades and needs to be gone over before I can bring it up to our camp. Trying to do some research on it. Here are some pics.

Have you looked under the belt guard for a second identifcation plate?
Are you sure its an Alamo and not a Mott Interstater(it looks like an interstater.

Let me know if you need help with it otherwise you can buy whatever
you need from Clean Cutter, Flail Master, or Alamo Industrial.

leonz, I looked under the belt guard and no identification plate as a matter of fact the belt guard is also missing. Before I repainted the unit it had Alamo decals on it, so I am pretty sure it is a Alalmo flail mower. Here is a picture of the unit when I first purchased it.

I recently picked up a flail mower also for food plotting. Mostly for pulverizing old corn stalks and such. I haven't got to use it yet because the clown that had it before me put the wrong knives on it and they were too long so everytime you got the rpms up the thing would shake and rattle from the knives slamming off the metal of the mower. Ends up I have to cut everyone down about 1/2 and re-drill them. I thought about just getting new knives but it would cost more than what I originally paid for the thing. Still even with all the work thats going to be involved I can't wait to use it.

Thanks for the update, you should be able to obtain a
new belt guard from either Flail Master or Alamo.

Be sure to purchase the green replacement kevlar belts from NAPA, TSC
and others as the kevlar belts are more shock resistant.

My 6' Mott is similar to your Alamo. I think the companies merged or something like Miller and Hobart welders.

Mine didn't have a belt guard either and there doesn't seem to be any mounting holes or brackets to install one. A cover didn't seem to be available on any of the flail mower parts websites either. Maybe it was made before the safety police took over.

Here is a photo when it was up on a trailer to replace the finish knives.
