Need to spread lime, fertilizer and seed about two acres. It's all up and down hill, literally have no flat ground, so I need a stable tow-behind spreader for my garden tractor. Any recommendations?

I had a Rugid 200lbs tow behind spreader from Tractor Supply. It worked well and was quite sturdy. I'm sure it would have lasted me 20years on my old 2 acers, but I upgraded to a 3pt spreader after I got my tractor.

I would not recommend the small plastic tow behinds at Lowes and Home Depot badged by Deere.

If the ground is really rough or hilly (i have hard time picturing much in the way of hills in Louisiana) as you say you might consider one of the electric spreaders that uses the cargo mounting system if your tractor has it. That would certainly reduce the chance of an accidental spillage.

Yeah, the last time i looked at the Deere on in the big box store it looked like a $100 spreader with an extra $150 for the name. Bigest thing I didn't like about it was the cable going to the shutoff. I have found the rod type to work much better than the cable.

Our Agrex pull-type fertilizer spreader will last you a lifetime with proper cleaning and maintenance. They feature a casted, serviceable gearbox, the same heavy duty construction as the 3pt models and outweigh the Frontier model by 37%. We also offer a deflector shield as an option for spreading in close quarters or for salt and sand. All of our fertilizer spreaders ship free to a qualifying business or supporting freight terminal within 1,000 miles of Newton, NC.
Check out the video about the 3pt. model when you click the link above. I hope this helps.
