King Kutter Brush Hog

Does anyone own one of the new King Kutter rotary cutters with the domed top. I trashed out my very beat up 5' Howse the other day and was looking to try and fix it or look at buying another head ache or something new. Most of the brand names want ridiculous money for as much as I use it but King Kutter looks like they really improved their product with by putting the dome shape on it. The local farm and tractor store wants $899 for a new 5' model.

I'm really interested in people opinion on the King Kutter.

I have the KK 5 foot cutter that you are considering - has the domed top and the flex hitch with a shear pin on the shaft. I bought it new a little over a year ago and I'm very happy with it. I use it for light to medium use on an area that has no rocks or stumps - just thick grass and weeds. It's not considered to be a heavy-duty mower by any means but for regular maintenance of a field I think it's a good machine. My only problem was with the plastic PTO shield on the mower side of the shaft. The small chain that keeps it from spinning tore through the hole that it was secured to. It should be easy enough to repair if I care to.

I thought it was funny you should bring that up - my BushHog brand plastic guard has done the very same thing. It's just plastic and I agree, it will be easy to repair.
