Has any one used an mmm and rotary cutter at the same time? I have a BX24 and want to cut a pasture with a rotary cutter but I don't have a belly shield. I damaged my HST fan a couple of years ago and don't want to repeat that. So I wonder if keeping the mmm installed would protect the fan in high brush. Any thoughts on this, other than buying a Bro Tech?

if you just want to use the mmm as a belly shield, just latch the mmm in the raised position so it don't go up and down when you raise/lower the 3pt. I suppose there's nothing to keep you from running both mid & rear PTO's at the same time and run both mowers if you want to do that.

Thanks Pete. That was my thinking. I read in another thread you could set the adjuster knob in highest position and the mmm wouldn't drop much but you mentioned latching it up. Do you mean using a strap or something to hold it up?

You can lock the mmm up with the adjustment knob in the 'lock' position. Then the 3 pt will rise and fall all the way. (easier done than said).

You could do that. You may wan to raise the decK wheels all the way up too. My BX has a "top" position and the deck adjustment knob to hold the deck up.

I put Bro Tek on mine, but prior to that I ran the cutter with MMM locked in the top position.

This worked for me, but I saw a post where a member still had a limb work its way past and take the fan out; not likely, but apparently it can happen.

Raising the wheels is a good idea.

Its top position on the BX.

I am a little confused by your post - the wording sounds like you want to RUN both MMM and rotary cutter? I am pretty sure you are asking if you could LEAVE the MMM on while using the rotary cutter but only run the rotary cutter? If the case is the latter - then sure why not if it just a grassy area? it sure would help to keep things away from the fan for sure. But if you are referring to run it over brush and twigs, I am gonna say it will be better then nothing, but I personally would hate to have the brush pushing up on the MMM linkages and there is still space between the top of MMM and underside of BX and its still vulnerable.
Do you have the kubota aftermath modified fan gaurd installed?

The Kubota decks have the strongest mower drives that I've seen in the industry and unless what your mowing is brush I'd just use the mid deck in the raised position for grasses and weeds.
