Sure there is! But, why would you need to do that?

If you are fighting grass fires - fine; but spraying?

I pull a 25 GL sprayer behind a lawn tractor and can go all the way down the road shoulder with the 2 nozzle bbom, 10' wide, for 3/4 mile and start my way back before it runs out.

You do not want to over-apply herbicide - just a mist on the plants is what you want or you will be way over-applying the pints or quarts pewr acre on the herbicide label - both illegal and REAL expensive for stuff like Milestone at over $80 a quart.

My 2 cents and you know what they say about "opinions".

    I never, ever use herbicides.

This is what I'm going to do......I've seen some awesome pasture grass as a result of liming (if necessary) & spraying raw milk (diluted with water) and am eager to try as I can't afford a buggy full of fertilizer every year.

I do not want to spend humongus money for a sprayer in an ag store, when there has to be a way to utilize the water tote for this task. Is this mechanism that I'd use to spray called a boom? From what little I've grasped of a boom, it emits a very fine spray; I don't need such a fine spray. All I need to do is spray in a five ft or so span from behind the trailer holding the tote. My motto is use what you have. I have a tote. All I need are some thoughts & guidance as I'm 3 yrs new at this farm stuff.

    Thanks.............

A boomless nozzle setup would work fine for that. All you'd need would be some kind of pump (electric is by far the cheapest, but don't put out much volume until you get into the more expensive ones), an idea of how many gallons you want to put on an acre, a couple of nozzles, and a pressure gauge mounted so you can tell how much fluid is coming out. Teejet has all the information you'd need in their catalog and any farm store that stocks spraying parts should be able to get you the right nozzle for the speed you want to travel and the desired gallons per acre. If you have a generator, I've even seen some people use a 110v home well jet pump they had laying around hooked up to a tote on a trailer for spraying.

Look for boomless nozzles in this catalog-
