Quick Hitch kit for Frontier or Woods Finish Mower

I have tried it both ways and if the grass is heavy, get clumps with, and without, the chains. The chain guard is kind of a pain to detach/install (not really difficult, just a number of bolts, but not something I'd want to do at each mowing), so I just leave it on all the time.

I think the quality of clipping dispersal is more related to the moisture content and height of the grass and not that much affected by the chain guard.

That being said, I would still opt for the chain guard just to help knock down any projectiles that might be launched from the deck.

By the way, just as a side note, I also have the 62D belly mower and in my opinion, the GM1072R gives a superior cut.

Nothing wrong with using a chain in lieu of a rigid toplink, but I don't think it would work well with a QH. However, it would do fine with the Pat's Easy Change system.

I do use it with the imatch hitch. This was my best way to get it to float for for me.

I couldn't help myself and look at the pics again and I noticed you guys have the chain gaurds on the back. How do you like them? Do you get a good distribution of the grass clippings?

I have chain guards on my mower because they were installed when I bought it used. I don't know if I would have paid extra if I had bought the mower new.

The mower spreads the clippings nicely, as long as the grass is dry. With wet grass, I do get an occasional clump.

How do you prevent the QH from flopping about the lower links (if the mower or other implement isn't attached)?

Thanks to you Runner and Roy on the feedback about the chains. Not much you can do about wet grass not clumping at some point.

I'll get a price on the chains when I order the QH kit.

Its nice to know that the RM1072R gives such a nice cut.

I did try mine out when I got it home and was taking it off the trailer. It was a nice cut and the deck had a nice hum to it.

Your Frontier GM3060 may be manufactured by Woods Equipment or Befco. If the front corners are rounded, it's probably a Woods...also, the gearbox will have Woods embossed on the housing.
Your best bet is to call a Deere dealer for the PN and to get a manual. If your mower is a Woods, you can download the manual from their website...but don't look for GM3060. That's a Frontier model number. If a Woods, it's probably a PRD6000.
