It would be easy to put some additional cuts, design or shapes into each of the major parts in the kits. That would allow for easy identification on being a customer built item. Another option they could add is the possiblity for adding a monogram / logo / ranch brand to a portion of the implement (for a nominal fee) to provide that truly custom built look.

So what would a grapple like the OBG2-48 run as a "Kit"?

I would want it hard mounted (not quick attach), so it would need the mount ears.

Have both stick and mig ...even a oxy/ac to warm stuff up.

Lots of potential with the idea. I really like it and look forward to your final concept. While shipping weight would not vary much the awkward size of shipping would be reduced somewhat.

It sounds interesting.

One of the difficulties I have here is finding bigger pieces of steel. Buying in smaller quantities is more expensive, of course. Getting a kit of all the necessary parts would be nice.

+1 on a 48" grapple kit. You could just offer the tines and other plasma cut parts and customer could supply the tubing and stuff that's easy to find local and cut w/o plasma. Might save some on shipping.

On first thought I consider it a no-brainer. Just considering I would like a smaller back-hoe attachment. I could locate and buy a used one with well used cylinders, well abused loose joints and possibly cracked welds I can't see OR for the same possible price I could have new cylinders, new hoses, and all parts cut to size for me and I get to do the welding myself. Then I got to thinking about shipping and just from ordering small stuff and getting hosed on couriers I think any savings would end up going to the trucking company.

I think this is a great idea.

In regards to warranty- don't think there is a need for one. If you go to the metal supplier to buy pieces for a project- no warranty given. The only difference is EA has cut and/or shaped pieces for you. If I don't fabricate it correctly- that's my issue, not theirs.

I believe this to be a great opportunity for those who have experience in fabrication or want to gain more experience. I would think that they have access to proper tools and equipment.

On the other hand, someone who see's this as purely a way to save money based on "hey- i can build that"- that isn't all that experienced would be the problem.

Bottom line: Buyer Beware

I am looking forward to seeing some examples of "kits"

I can see it on Utube now;

Hi! I'm Ted from EveryThing Attachments and were here today with
EveryThing Attachments newest product that we designed in house and
today were going to show you how to assemble and weld up our latest
Do It Yourself, Build It At Home, Sub Compact Tractor 14" Single
Bottom Plow Kit. First you need to make sure you have a welder that
is 220V minimum, have a flat area to weld and build on and a sqaure.
This kit is designed with..................

The HOW TO build videos would almost be mandatory IMO
because you WILL have a ton of guys w/ a 110V Home Depot
Special trying to weld 3/8" and in the end many would blame
poor design over there inabilities to weld I bet!

So Ted, your looking at a whole new round of productions too!
IMO They will help sell them huge! Frankly I like the idea if
at least 50% off or better. I would suggest your still making
more money at 50 off. No welding? NO PAINTING?
No Assembly? HUGE!

But-Some-How-Ever
So you spend time drawing all these parts in CAD and you
cut them on that awesome new machine, you increse proffits
and almost completly eliminate warranty issues by shipping kits
and what happens? ;

Joees Welding Shop (or Mr Yaaung in China) buys one, and now alls
he has to do is take each part and use it for a template, simply trace
around the perimiter of the master pieces supplied by ETA onto a piece
of plate, grab his cuttin' torch and viola! Now we have Joee selling
the same thing on CL or Ebay or the flea market, undoubtedly for a
LOT le$$ !
Or Bill and neighbors Bob and Cletus go in on one kit and they copy it...

Mr Yaaung is a more serios threat IMO.

Bent parts? They will find a way...look how easy it now is to copy
w/o anything welded to it.

PS, For the record, I throughly enjoy ETA videos and I believe ETA to sell
quality. Ted is awesome...

PSS, Ted I would LOVE to be a DIY at Home build Beta tester! Cut me
up a BX25 Sub Compact Tractor 14" Single Bottom Plow Kit to start! ;)
heck I will even photo the process and post up on TBN...

Actually the idea of a minimal kit without the tube that can be easily sourced locally would be nice.
