    Default Cole Powell Planter

Purchased several pieces of farm equipment, including 2 single row Cole Powell planters, mounted on a MF tool bar of sorts, to make a 2 row planter. I got several seed plates and several drive sprockets, but have no idea how to match them up. These planters have a composite hopper with a divider, and from what I can find out, are designed to feed seeds from both sides. Only marks I can find are patent # and date, and a s/n on one (18241 I think). Any body have any infor as to and owner or user manual? How about charts to select seed plates and dive sprockets? Previous owner said it was set up for sweet corn and he had planted 11 acres with it last time it was used. I want to use this for a rather large garden project. Any help would certainly be appreciated.Cole Powell Planter-dsc00014.jpgCole Powell Planter-dsc00015.jpgCole Powell Planter-dsc00016.jpgCole Powell Planter-dsc00017.jpg

I appreciate that ken, but that's now part of Covington. Called them and got not much of anything, think they don't want to deal with the older ones.

I had a suspicion that may be the case. TBN and Yesterdaystractors forums may be your next best shot for info and manual copies from members. Ken Sweet

Looks like you have the 1800 series multiflex. Take a look at this: Cole 1800 Series Multiflex Planters Sales Brochure | eBay

Thanks - I do believe that's what I have. Now if I could just find an owners/parts manual I'd be all set.

Only meant that some of the old iron seems to last forever. Companies that have been bought and sold over the years might would prefer that new equipment be purchased rather than selling parts for old items. Perfect example is Bush Hog here in Alabama- when original owners had it, parts were available for anything they ever made. After Allied bought it and re-engineered many items (some didn't need to be!)parts for equipment prior to the transison were hard to get. Once any 'old iron' parts were gone they were GONE! I had a Bush hog ATV mower that was just a 42" mower deck with a motor and drawbar- bad to the bone machine! Now you can't even find it listed anywhere for parts.

Maybe you could give Cole/Covingtion a call with this model # series. They might be able to help you get the parts book.
