Tractor
Kubota Tractor Loader L3560 HST+ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 3,700 pounds bare tractor, 5,400 pounds operating weight, 37 horsepower
I have a new-old-stock 60" Bush Hog Rollover Box Blade. Good tool but more difficult to load on the 3-Pt hitch than my other implements.

Some of the factors which make attachment difficult: weight: 630 pounds, close fit implement draw pin holes/draw pins, ground settling under parked implement.

Draw pins are wiped off and newly lubricated with lithium grease before each attachment.

I can purchase a 2 ton capacity, 6" lift, hydraulic bottle jack at Walmart for $13, which should help vertical alignment, but I dislike the idea of another widget acquisition for use with a single implement.

I am hoping someone out there with a Rollover Box Blade has figured out a brilliant solution to loading same on the 3-Pt.

Mtnviewranch -- Guru of RBB's, are you out there? I wanted to PM this to you but could not attach photos.

I am 65 years old so brute force is in short supply. Tractor is a Kubota B3300SU package.

You could get a 3PH quick attach from Harbor Freight for around $70.

I have a set of Pat's Easy Change adapters here but have not installed them.

Installation still under consideration.

I have four implements powered by PTO drive shafts and I am dithering over concern PTO shafts will be too short after Pat's adapters installed.

Also, I am pretty dedicated to the KISS Principle.

That said, I DO have the Pat's Adapters here......

You could always buy a pto extender which adds around 4" and costs $20. You could also sell me that box blade as it looks very nice.:D

Mount those "easy change" adaptors and I fully, 100%, agree with the KISS principle.

sdkubota:

Thank you for this suggestion. I had not thought of PTO extenders.

Are PTO extenders something Tractor Supply sells or does it require a more specialized vender?

Anything I need to know about PTO extenders, starting from zero ?? Sizing? Interference issues?

The RBB is a nice tool. Though decaled Bush Hog it bears a sticker MADE IN INDIA. I suspicion that all the RBB's currently sold under various brands for compact tractors are imported from the same supplier in India.

support the implement on three pads ONLY. two some what closely spaced under the blade, one under the center of front crossbar. That allows YOU (all 65 years of you, I'm 63) to tilt the tool without lifting much of it.

Use the concrete blocks and two layers of wood, but grease the the wood to let them slide over each other while carrying the implement weight.

My grandfather taught me to never lift more than 1/2 of anything heavy!

Let the tool do the work."Use your head, save your back" KISS

Cheers

Tractor Supply only has ones that have a pin through it to hold it on to the shaft (old style)...no good for modern ptos. I just ordered mine from Agrisupply.com after exhausting finding one in my area from local suppliers. The "standard" pto is 1 3/8" x 6 spline shaft. Make sure you order the 1 3/8" x 6 male - 1 3/8" x 6 female coupler since they also make many that will have different shaft types (adapter) on each end. I am currently waiting for one to arrive so I can run my new 15kw pto generator that can with a short pto shaft. Also look for a push pin safety pin connector like on your pto shafts.

Flattery gets you no where. ;) We have 3 Gannon roll over box blades. All that I do is have a couple of 2x4s or 2x6s about 18"-24" long under the cutting edge and a 4x6 standing on end cut to the proper height to support under the tower. Pretty simple.

I may be missing something here but I don't see a need for a jack if one of your side links has a length adjustment. Just attach the fixed length side first then tweak the second side height as necessary with the crank.

Did you try sandpapering the inside of the ball holes that your pins go thru?

Nice looking box blade (and tractor).
