About 65 foot tall hemlock. It had been showing signs of weakness. and broke off about 16 feet up the trunk.

Limbed and bucked it this AM, and this afternoon my wife and daughter did the dragging while I fed the MacKissick Chipper/shredder.

The Hurliman 435 ran through about 5 gallons of fuel supplying the power.

The front yard is cleaned up now!

One more Beech in the back to go...but it's hung up, and a bit scary.

We have some 30+ trees down including my favorite huge white oak - probably 55 inches in diameter. Root ball left a twelve foot crater under it. I'll have firewood for years to come if I can only get it cut in time. Sad event for our little patch of wood.

For both you and CalG, I have to start with "sorry for your losses", but then I go to where are the pics?

Remember the TBN mantra: if you can't show it, ir never happened...,

My pics of the 2 cedars that I found laying across our drive will follow as soon as I get them off my cell and onto a device capable of posting them...

Imagination is half the fun!

We had about 10 big ones down in a wind two years ago, Maple, Beech, Cherry and oak The red oak bolt is still "resting" where it fell. It's about 20 inches across, and cut 18 feet long. I really should get it cut up and split, kept thinking I'ld get is sawn to boards, but that's not going to happen. I'm fuel wood rich at the present as well. Wood stacked all around the place ;-) Jeesh! I didn't need these! Maybe it will be a cold winter ;-)
