Thanks, but I am looking for a cheaper used one as I only need to move about i bale every 2-3 weeks from the neighbors barn across from my pasture about 1/4 mile. So far he delivers it to me at no charge but now that I have my own tractor I hate to have him continue delivering as it makes me feel guilty.
Cheapest method is just weld a 39" tine receiver on top of your bucket for the smaller round bales. Put the tine on hand tight when you need it and then take it off. I imagine to lift a big square bale or the 6x6 rounds you might need to reinforce the bucket.
I bought a new SSQA 39" single tine fork for $250 from a guy who bought a truck load of attachments from the U.S. I have accidently lifted the front of the tractor off the ground on the tip so its plenty strong.
That sounds like a good option and I will look into it. Thanks I,ve also decided to purchase a 3-point spear made by prefert which will work fine as long as the bale is sitting on the ground where I can get to it.
Here is another 3-point spear fro TSC that you can peruse. CountyLineŽ 3 Point Hay Spike - 2120288 | Tractor Supply Company
I have prefert 3 point bale fork and a FEL bale spear...handy to use 3 point as rear weight ...thus carry 2 bales at once. Always load rear bale first and drop it last.
Ideal would to have a SSQA combination pallet fork and optional bale spear....wish I had been aware enough to get this instead of the FEL bale spear...
Thanks , I appreciate all information and options.
You just got a tractor... You will soon relize forks are one of the most useful attachments (assuming you have a loader). I would consider the forks that I posted in my first post.... You can add on the spear for a few more $$
