    Default two bottom prow

purchased a ford 640, it came w/ a two bottom plow.
I tried to attach it today to the 3 point hitch. WHen i backed up to it the cutter disc in the front of the plow bumps into the pto area of the tractor and the lifter arms aren't long enough to attach it. As you can probably can tell I am new to all this, any help would be awesome, thanks.

    mycaddigo,

Can you attach pics of the tractor and plow showing your issues with the hookup to the 3pt. Was this plow ever attached to this tractor prior to your purchase. If not, it may need some "setup adjustments" to hookup. Are you able to remove the front "coulter" if so would this allow the hookup.

I don't know if the plow was ever attached to this tractor, I assumed it was up to this point.
I have my doubts now of course. I will take a pic when I can get to the farm.
    Ty for helping me

if the front "coulter" is that disk that hits the pto, than yes i think i can remove that.

Here is a photo of my plow the day I brought it home. As you can see I have a three bottom with coulters and mine are adjustable/removable. They are useful in cutting the trash, some folks use them and some remove them. Hope this helps.

Can I have your plow? (:
If I take it off will it still work?? I might also be able to adjust it and swing it arond to the back, I'm going to try and have my bro take pics today, I think he's going there.
    Thanks again.

It may simply be that the lift arms aren't long enough to allow the plow to mount without the front coulter hitting.. mine is close on my L3400 kubota too.
If you're plowing already broken ground, the coulter can be removed, but if you're working with unbroken sod they are really nice to have.

The seller might have included the plow because it was no good to him either, a lot of stuff goes like that.

You should be able to get generic ones.. or cut yours and get a short section welded in. I'd try to reposition the coulter first if you can, it's not that easy sometimes though. Is there any way to adjust the lift pins further forward on the plow?
