Guys,
I finally put my old rotary cutter through one set of brush to many and she up and fell apart on me.... Last week, she lost a few pieces of support metal and I know I should have given her a break... .I should have bought a welder and fixed it (my Dad's is 150 miles away and I don't have the means to move my cutter there).
BUT, since I've had her a long time and she could still do the job, I kept working her.... Until the other night when I finally think she may have met her demise... The whole right side of the vertical support (the 3pt hitch attachment) came off (disconnected at the welds) the top of the cutter platform...
Needless to say, I luckilly caught it in time before a catastrophe with flying metal... I dragged her down the hill and laid her to rest with my trailer that needs restoring.
NOW, I need to get a new cutter (I may weld the old one but no time soon because I need to get a decent welder...not one of those cheapys ... and that means running the appropriate wiring). I'm looking to get a HD rotary cutter but I don't want to spend more than $1000. Any ideas???? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
