Tractor Supply Disappointment!!
I have been planning to buy a 25 gal. sprayer. I went by my local Tractor Supply yesterday to get one and found they had 4 that were stored outside and showed signs of rust, hose dry rot, flat tires, etc. Well I didn't particularly want to but something that looked used and would soon require some attention. I asked an employee if they had any inside boxed up, as I have no problem assembling a new one. He had to check with the manager. They had nothing inside just outside and the price was the same, $279.
Is it just me or would anyone else have wanted a sprayer that looked new when you bought it or would you have bought one of the "nasty" looking ones outside at full retail price?

Re: Tractor Supply Disappointment!!
Just order it online. Will show up at your door brand new at same price or have it sent to the store. I'm surprised you didn't get a discount. Usually the manager will for stuff that's been outside and weathered.

I,too, am surprised that they didn't offer a substantial discount to sell the ones they had, especially this time of year.

TSC has been nothing but INCREDIBLE with service, and I have spent a lot of time in there, just ask my wife! I am really surprised no discount, perhaps a call to customer service?

Re: Tractor Supply Disappointment!!
I found that the manager is a person who organizes workers in a TSC store. Locally, I ran into thr "receiver" for our local store. She manages the inventory, and knows what everything cost. And what it can be clearanced out for. I got over 300 off a 3 pt tiller, plus she threw in a couple of hats, and the gear oil for it. I guess they separate the functions for control purposes. I asked a worker there who could help me in buying a tiller, it didn't have a price on it, they sent her out, best deal I ever found there! I would just bs with the workers until you find out who really controls prices there.

Re: Tractor Supply Disappointment!!
I hate TSC up here in Ontario (at least my local one). They lack knowledge, often are out of stock and overall their prices are not great. When I first visited a TSC in Texas, I actually contacted the corporation to bring it to Canada and they were not receptive at the time (2001). When it first opened here I was excited, now I care less as my store is terrible.

I ran into simialr problem getting something discounted when I first moved to this area. If the department Manager or the General Manager are not on duty, the assistants either do not have the authority or are unwilling to discount much for fear of going too low. Now that I am on first name basis with all the managers, if I see something I want to negotiate on and they are not on duty I wait and come back later.

As you say, I've learned who to talk to and therefore, I got my cold-cut metal cut-off saw for $40, although it had been marked $75 on clearance.

Tractor supply here in Knoxville is only a few miles away and sometimes I feel like I'm in there daily , Great people good service and always stocked with what I need , The place is always clean and I have bought many things with a manager discount ! couldn't say more good things about the place ,i stopped at ace hardware for 1 grade 8 bolt and a nylock to go with it cost $2.00 went to tsc and bought 4 more cost $5.69 That's a good enough reason for me !
If all your interested in is MONEY ,Your not very interesting !
