Default weight of my ez landscaper attachment / toothbar on fel bx2360.

    guys,

currently have a ratchet rake on my fel/2360 . . . but would like to replace it with a ez landscaper attachment toothbar that is sitting in my garage . . . awaiting work orders.
the ez landscaper bar weighs in the 80 plus lbs. am wondering whether or not that is too much weight to to be putting on a relatively light weight kubota front end loader bucket? not to mention the stress, strain and torqueing that the loader bucket will have to absorb while working it should i be trying to reinforce the bucket sides? the ez landscaper attachment is a beast.
fortunately, i have a friend with a wielding business. did i err in this heavy weight purchase? all thoughts and suggestions appreciated!

    Happy Thanksgiving

dude -- how much does the FEL pick up? then ask yourself is that a problem after subtracting 80lbs? its a tractor afterall.

    radioman,
i know the bucket can handle the weight . . . in my poorly worded initial statement, i'm actually concerned about the lightweightness of the fel bucket sides.
    thanks

No problem at all. There are tons of guys running toothbars on BX tractors.

ok- I get it now - you are worried about the thin steel on sides of the bucket and I can understand your concerns. My rule of thumb when I am doing things - either I think its strong enough and breaks- Ill make it even better or I will add more strength to something knowing full well I will abuse it. In your case - If you already have concerns, nothing wrong with reinforcing the bucket. A welder will have a better idea if you show him the toothbar and bucket and your concerns. You might want to add a plate on sides for pins to prevent elongating in the hole. Any toothbar will strengthen the lip of the bucket and most of the forces will be on the lip pushing or pulling so no worries there. I am pretty sure the BX bucket can handle anything. I think your biggest worry is creating a smiley of the bucket lip then twisting or tearing the sides.
