[QUOTE=MIKE7639;3144198]I bought one of these cheap Tri-Ball trailer hitch things with the hook at Northern Tool. I have not used the hook for anything substantial and don't think I'd trust it for any heavy use. The grab hook attached to the drawbar is much more useful.

The hook would be useful for tow strap loops. Just be sure to use the web styles. The rope tow straps are known to stretch and then snap. Whip time!

I have the reciver you show in the pic and yeah iwill use mine but not for any heavy stuff. like you i never have fully trusted them but this will keep me from switching ball's all the time. seem's ever time i go to hook to something i have wrong ball on tractor or ranger.i seen another nice piece i'll have next trip to ts they now have a reciever that will fit my ranger that i can use the same multi ball hitch with.

I bought the 18" hitch from harbor freight and cut it in two pieces. One for the hitch piece and the other for the upright to attach the toplink. I got the 3 ball hitch on sale at HF for $19. I had the hook on the bottom laying around from pulling it off of some truck long ago so I added it, as well.

I have 3 trailers. Each one uses a different size ball. To move things around with the tractor, I use the 3 ball one as you can adjust the height with your 3pt hitch. Hard to do with a non adjustable hitch on a vehicle. I have the proper depth hitch for all 3 balls with the truck in the bed box. I have a 2" receiver on the rt front where the tow loop goes on my 2000 F250. (Leeds Engineering) I use the 8" drop hitch with it for pushing a 16 ft trailer up a hill drive into the Barn. Works fabulously. will take photos tomorrow and put on this thread....

that looks good my center link is mounted to high to add any stability ts has a set of arm's to make it more stable and you can pull alot more weight with peace of mind but i don't need it. your center link down low gives you better deal you don't need to worry about how heavy something is cool deal.
