TSC 6' Scraper Blade and 6' Landscape Rake Advice

Well now that i have a new tractor i need attachments. I need a scraper blade for snow removal mostly but might use it for what ever else i can think of. I would be buying the landscape rake as a x-mas present for the father in-law. Yes i am kinda buying myself a present seeing how i'll be using it as well. The prices seem pretty good 6' blade = 349 and 6' rake =499. The only reviews i have seen are on the TSC site. Everyone seems to like them just wondering if anyone on here has had one and how do you like it. Any help would be great. I do have a 1200' gravel driveway that i might try to get the potholes out with the blade. Let me know if you guys think i am wasting my money or are they worth getting. :anyone:

I have one of each from tractor supply.. I don't use them, I got them for my drive way,, we don't have snow down here,, so I don't know how good they would be on that, but both have been setting for years,, I use a 5' box blade for my gravel driveway at the land.. it's about 1800 ft long.. Lou

I believe the TSC implements are good basic equipment for guys like me - and probably you - who don't use them every day. I have an old, refurbished TSC blade that does a good job on all kinds of things, but you don't want to drag it over big rocks or stumps. It will bend - but so will some high-priced blades on too-great-HP tractors. I have an old, former rental landscape rake that has been bent several times, but does the job. I agree that a box blade is far superior to a scraper blade for maintenance on a gravel drive - mine is a mile long. I use the scraper only once a year or so to pull some loose gravel back onto the road. The landscape rake works well too. The BB is perfect for eliminating potholes... Not good on snow however. I use my FEL primarily for the snow, with the scraper to clean up.

I think TSC has good light/med duty equipment for part timers, and it would go well with your CUT. I have also had good luck finding used stuff. Things like BBs are hard to hurt and can be bought used for half what you pay new.

If they are still selling King Kutter brand, then I'd recommend you take a look at the KK Professional series and Heavy Duty series if you have any doubts about how the Std series will hold up on your machine & with your tasks. I was able to get the mgr at the Enfield TSC to order a 7' Prof series for snow duty and light soil grading. It's about 340#, rotates, tilts & offsets. I haven't bent it in the 3 or 4 years I've used it.

For potholes in a gravel drive, I'd go with a box blade. I think you need to get some scarifiers down and rip up the subsurface or the potholes will come right back in the same place.

Yeah, scraper blade and rake are redundant. Consider boxblade for the rough work, rake to tidy up.
